Account Manager, New York Area

The Inside Sales Account Manager, New York Area is responsible for selling Chromium and Visium benchtop instruments and  driving consumables for all platforms across existing academic, government and medical center research institutions. Connecting, primarily, with existing customers via phone and e-mail to help guide them to our products that best meet their needs. Additionally, this role will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure an exceptional customer experience in adoption and continuous engagement with 10x through service renewals.  This is a remote position based in New York or New Jersey.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Develop and manage a territory plan to meet or exceed business goals for a defined customer base.

  • Sell Chromium and Visium benchtop instruments and drive consumables sales for all platforms across existing academic, government and medical center research institutions.

  • Manage and engage existing customers, primarily via phone and e-mail to deeply understand their research needs and goals.

  • Use consultative selling approach to match customer needs with the right solution; empathy for internal dynamics, budget constraints, etc.

  • Manage specific customers and help to address their needs, providing budgetary pricing, creating and submitting individualized quotes and closing sales process

  • Work closely with many other 10x roles, including Account Manager, Xenium Capital Specialists, Scientific & Technology Advisors, Field Application Specialists and Service teams to ensure exceptional customer experience in adoption and continuous engagement with 10x through service renewals

  • Foster strong, collaborative working relationships and execute clear process flows for handoffs with cross-functional departments (e.g., Account Managers, Xenium Capital Specialists and Scientific & Technology Advisors) to develop and execute territory-specific sales plans

  • Responsible for updating the CRM system to reflect accurate opportunities and pipeline.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in selling; preferably in the academic, life sciences or biotechnology industries

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field; equivalent industry experience

  • Knowledge of Next Gen Sequencing Technology, or similar diagnostic testing applications

  • Track record of establishing long-term customer relationships and growth through closing new business

  • Strong customer-relationship skills – building trust, understanding customer needs, presenting effective solutions

  • Skilled at driving customer growth through closing new business, securing service renewals and contract extensions, and fostering ongoing client relationships

About the role:

As a Field Application Scientist you will be engaging with customers daily and delivering system usage trainings at customer sites, while providing experimental design, data analysis, logistical, and troubleshooting support across your region. 10x Genomics is hiring a Remote Spatial Science & Technology Advisor, New York

The Spatial Science & Technology Advisor (SSTA), New York, is primarily responsible for working with the Spatial Sales and Marketing teams to help develop and grow the 10x Genomics Spatial business by accelerating the sales process and maximizing revenue for sales opportunities in their territory. This role will conduct sales and related sales support activities for all current and future Spatial products and applications within the 10x Genomics portfolio. The Spatial STA is a highly technical position that requires both an in-depth knowledge of the products and workflows for Spatial solutions, but also how they can be incorporated with other 10x Genomics applications to better enable our customers through a multiomic approach to research.

Additionally, the Spatial STA is expected to be a field technical expert, working directly with field teams to position products to specified academic, government, private, and/or industrial accounts in an assigned territory: Incumbent will work from a remote location but must be located within the territory with a strong preference for ready access to a major airport.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Execute and communicate the vision for increasing the 10x Spatial portfolio market share at the field-level
  • Work with field teams, Market Development leaders and customers to understand and communicate what is needed for successful adoption/positioning our Spatial solutions
  • Partner closely with Sales Executives to generate, qualify, and close Spatial sales opportunities

The Regional Marketing Manager (RMM) will be responsible for planning, designing and executing marketing activities for Japan.

About the role:

The Science & Technology Advisor (STA) is primarily responsible for accelerating the sales process and maximizing revenue for every sales opportunity in their territory. They will conduct sales and related sales support activities for all products and applications within the 10x Genomics portfolio. What you will be doing:

  • Partner closely with the sales team to generate, qualify, and close sales opportunities

About the role

Our team is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Security Engineer (IAM Identity Engineer) to own and enhance identity and access management systems, with a primary focus on maturing our Okta implementation and hardening our AWS Identity and Access Management configuration. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of the Okta platform, a proven history of configuring SCIM,  in addition to extensive multi-cloud experience. As a Senior Security Engineer, you will be the technical subject matter expert for our identity solutions and cloud configurations. You will be responsible for performing design reviews, technical security assessments, and access reviews to highlight overly permissive policies and to help engineering teams reduce risk and  improve the overall security of our products. You will be a security leader within the company, gaining a solid understanding of our products and systems, and ensuring that security is built-in. This position requires both deep and broad technical knowledge across a range of disciplines, and the ability to work hands-on across a wide variety of software designs and technology stacks.

What you will be doing

  • Serve as a primary technical security resource on all IAM issues and projects 
  • Lead, implement, and expand our zero trust architecture
  • Mature our Okta implementation by configuring SSO, SCIM, and other automated-provisioning processes
  • Review and update cloud-based IAM policies to make sure access policies are least privileged, properly scoped, and governed by version control (Terraform + GitHub)
  • Architect, configure, and audit role-based access control to ensure appropriate and secure user access
  • Collaborate with other teams in pPerforming design reviews and technical security assessments to identify risks, ensure access rights are properly aligned, and help other teams improve the overall security of our products.
  • Design and implement security best practices and standards across varied engineering teams and environments.
  • Conduct threat modeling, identify & drive risk decisions, and influence technical designs and architectures.
  • Advocate for security culture and educate colleagues across all parts of 10x.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3 years of hands-on technical experience configuring federated identity providers, using SAML, OIDC, and SCIM
  • 3 years of hands-on technical experience configuring cloud identity and access management services including strong understanding of AWS IAM policies, roles, and trust relationships
  • Experience with Terraform, GitHub or similar for cloud infrastructure management.
  • Experience in web security (SSL/TLS, OAuth, SAML, etc.)
  • Experience with cloud and web application security standards (CIS benchmarks, OWASP ASVS, SANS 25, etc.)

Preferred skills and experience:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a related technical field.

  • Work collaboratively with Business Development, Product Marketing, Field Sales, and Field Application Scientists to drive opportunities and awareness in assigned accounts
  • Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts
  • Negotiate all sales opportunities within company established parameters for the assigned key accounts and generate associated sales contracts and quotations
  • Manage the sales process including pricing management, project pipeline visibility, product and revenue forecasting, order transactions, and ship schedules
  • Provide 10x Sr. leadership & management with regular feedback on account status and key initiatives
  • Navigate orders through the customer purchasing process and provide accurate sales forecasts; while keeping CRM system up to date

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in life science, chemistry or business
  • In-depth knowledge of the Pharma sector (inc. buying process and functional interactions)
  • Proven successful sales experience with a technical product line
  • Multi-year senior level sales experience in NGS, or Diagnostics / pharma environment
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp and master highly technical concepts and articulate them well to others
  • Ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organisation
  • Outstanding relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to influence, within a matrix organisation, driving for action and consensus
  • Results orientated, entrepreneurial and self-motivating
  • Willing to travel 70%
  • Demonstrable ability to solve problems and work effectively in a team environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and CRM database (Salesforce expertise would be an advantage)
