Appvia is hiring a Remote Sales Development Representative (SDR)

The Role

Appvia is looking for an ambitious Sales Development Rep to focus on new customer acquisition and revenue pipeline growth. Working closely with our CEO and sales team, this role is going to be a key part in a growing sales function.

This is a rare opportunity with one of the few, self-backed tech start-ups that have grown organically and are profitable. So this is an opportunity to be part of a true start-up and in fact only the fourth within the sales team in the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and build Appvia’s new client base; focusing on enterprise and corporate accounts - growing pipeline via lead generation through some of the top 200 target customers
  • Create a detail account target list across the top 200 customers within the finance, insurance and highly regulated industries with a view of reducing this to 50 customers once you start to attain and then develop new customers
  • Present Appvia’s product Wayfinder and services to prospective clients
  • Work closely with the revenue team including our Appvians in Sales, Marketing, Partners and Presales
  • Build a credible and quality pipeline of opportunity to be able to achieve revenue goals; actively forecasting this with good hygiene skills within HubSpot & Asana
  • Work closely with partners to fulfil and enable deals
  • Be a key part of a competitive, proactive sales function who values each person in the team
  • Proven, previous successful experience within inside sales, Sales Development or Business Development
  • Strong communication skills to be able to present to and influence key stakeholders at C’ level, through to Engineering and Development Managers
  • Strong cultural fit to the Appvia DNA - Customer focused, Competitive, Coachable, Challenger Mentality
  • Strong experience with CRM and Sales tooling such as HubSpot, Slack, G-Suite, Asana, etc.
  • Good collaboration skills and feedback loops to be able to build strong relationships with Product, Marketing and Engineering
  • Experience of working with the channel; using partners (tech alliances, GSIs, resellers, etc.) to find and progress opportunities
  • Must have the challenger sales mentality, the ability to really want to understand customer challenges and how we can add value to their goals with our product by asking the right qualifying questions
  • Good knowledge of our ecosystem which could include the Cloud Native landscape, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Kubernetes, Open-Source technology or Enterprise Software

High Level Requirements

  1. Proven successful, experience in Enterprise Tech Sales as an SDR or Inside Sales - ideally relatable to what we do
  2. Cultural fit - likeable, competitive but not selfish, coachable, resilient
  3. Understands the importance of Sales Hygiene in tools like HubSpot
  4. Goal orientated
  5. Comfortable with cold calling, speaking to new prospects

About the role

As a Senior AWS Platform Engineer and Cloud Consultant, you will play a crucial role in guiding our customers on their journey to cloud and DevOps maturity. About you

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to assess their current infrastructure, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop tailored cloud and DevOps strategies.
  • Design and implement scalable, resilient, and secure cloud-native solutions leveraging industry best practices and cutting-edge technologies.
  • Developing pipelines to deploy code all the way to production with Terraform, using GitHub Actions
  • Managing new demand for platform and application onboarding
  • Assisting application development teams to architect their applications to be cloud native, or helping them transform existing applications to cloud native where possible.
  • Implementing monitoring and alerting
  • Improving security posture of applications being migrated
  • Creating secure deployment patterns and templates/modules for application development teams to reuse.
  • Gathering requirements for building and maintaining a centralised platform for product teams to iterate on their applications in AWS.
  • Setting best practices and policies, especially around microservice architecture
  • Developing, maintaining and operating complex operational tooling (e.g. Kubernetes, Opensearch, Prometheus, Grafana, Github or equivalent alternative technologies)
  • Assessing customer technical capabilities and upskilling for reduced friction and increased platform adoption.
  • Enhancing operational reliability and scalability of existing products
  • POC’ing new ideas and products, and balancing trade offs between technical, analytical and product needs.
  • Streamlining operational tasks through engineering and automation
  • Improving operational visibility around core products such as tracking technologies, improved metrics etc.
  • Implementing integrations between components to improve the teams way of working
  • Improving knowledge amongst the team through code reviews, documentation, technical guidance and mentoring

Skills

  • Platform Engineering:Proficiency in designing and implementing scalable, resilient, and secure cloud platforms.
  • Automation:Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices, automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) and scripting languages (e.g. Python, Ruby).
  • Container Orchestration:Knowledge of container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes) and their managed counterparts (e.g., EKS, AKS, GKE).
  • Public Cloud Expertise:Understanding of cloud services, architecture, and best practices in one or more major public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • DevOps Practices:Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker).

Experience

  • Project Leadership:Demonstrated experience delivering cloud migration, optimisation, or transformation projects.
  • Client-Facing Experience:Proven track record of engaging with clients, understanding their requirements, and delivering solutions that exceed expectations.
  • Team Collaboration:Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and drive consensus.
  • Continuous Learning:Commitment to staying abreast of industry trends, participating in professional development activities, and obtaining relevant certifications.

Qualifications

Certification in relevant cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) at an associate level is highly desirable, e.g.:

  • AWS Certified: Solutions Architect Associate
  • AWS Certified: Solutions Architect Professional

Certification in Kubernetes administration is desirable:

  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
  • Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKSS)
