The Strategic Finance Manager, FP&A is a high-level Individual Contributor that plays a critical role to provide insights that drive decision making across the organization. This position owns some of the key Financial Modeling and Performance Reporting within the FP&A group, and requires a high level of curiosity and exceptional analytical skills. The ideal candidate is someone who proactively seeks to understand the “Why” behind numbers and enjoys digging into data to uncover insights. 

The Strategic Finance Manager will report to the Vice-President FP&A and work closely with the Director of FP&A. 

Job Responsibilities 

  • Prepares monthly recurring Revenue forecasting, Revenue related SaaS metrics reporting and scenario planning analysis. 
  • Pricing & “Deal desk”: develop a strong understanding of Cost of Good Solds (COGS) to enhance existing Pricing models and Margin analysis to support Deal evaluation. Support the Sales teams globally on Pricing evaluations (Discounting levels by Product).
  • Run the Long-Range Plan Financial Modeling and scenario planning. 
  • Ad-Hoc Analysis: Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as requested by senior management. Provide decision support on strategic initiatives and operational improvements.
  • Work closely with the Director of FP&A to be able to lead the FP&A cycle on an as needed basis and support in overall Month-end Variance analysis, bridges to Budget & Forecast as well as Board Reporting.  
  • Understand in depth and support the maintenance of the FP&A system (Adaptive Workday) reporting architecture, modeling calculations and monitor access rights.
  • Model Validation: Validate and back-test financial models to ensure accuracy, and reliability. Implement enhancements and improvements to modeling methodologies as needed (including scenario and sensitivity analysis, R&O etc…). 
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the quality of financial analysis and reporting. Implement best practices and recommend automation solutions.

Qualifications/Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5-10+ years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Corporate Finance or Strategic Finance role (e.g. M&A), and/or Consulting Firm. 
  • Previous experience (2 years+) in SaaS or Technology.
  • Exceptional skill level in Excel and ability to build complex financial models from scratch. 
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to roll-up your sleeves and understand the Data sources and limitations. Ability to interpret data, perform in depth analysis, and draw meaningful insights.
  • A deep sense of curiosity, with the ability to think strategically, ask the right questions and solve complex challenges with creative, data driven solutions. 
  • Salesforce, Adaptive and/or Thinkcell experience a plus.
  • Strong understanding of Accounting needed (CPA preferred).
  • FP&A certification preferred.

Job Responsibilities

HR responsibilities: 70% of the time or as needed

The Principal Engineer, Architecture will work with engineering teams and product management to execute on our vision to become the leading unified solution for video streaming by strengthening architecture, developing innovative proofs-of-concept and prototypes, defining and implementing reliable solution architectures, establishing and promoting technology standards and leading adoption of architecture best practices.  This individual will engage hands-on with engineers across the world within our engineering teams, rapidly innovating solutions, and creating strong bonds between Engineering and Product organizations that foster unparalleled video experiences for our customers.

The purpose of this role will be to provide technical leadership in the design, development and operations of key products and services that make up Brightcove's world class video platform. This individual will also help teams adopt and effectively utilize modern best practices for agile/evolutionary architecture, site reliability engineering, and devops.  The successful candidate will have expertise in disciplines such as, native cloud (SaaS) application development, systems architecture, data, testing, SRE/devops and security.

Brightcove manages and distributes over a hundred million videos and adds hundreds of thousands to that catalog every day. That’s no surprise given the explosive growth of online video, but managing that content presents a huge challenge for our clients.  To help solve this problem, we're looking for a Principal Software Engineer to help us evolve our architectural standards and internal development platform.

Qualifications/Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field; MBA preferred. 
  • 15+ years of experience in driving high performing, data driven, B2B performance marketing and digital transformation; enterprise software and global experience 
  • Extensive experience in developing and leading digital strategies for B2B lead generation, customer experience, and engagement working closely with growth marketing organization 
  • Experience with building a center of excellence around digital transformation and use of AI to drive business impact; omni-channel experience is a plus.

We are seeking an exceptional Sr. Data Analyst to tackle challenging problems across many technical disciplines, including time series forecasting, causal inference, and optimization. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of conducting deep analysis to explain trends and behaviors as well as applying advanced quantitative techniques to solve business problems. You will also be highly skilled at synthesizing and communicating insights and actionable recommendations to audiences at varying levels of technical sophistication.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Own end-to-end data analysis experience -- gather business requirements, formulate and test hypotheses, conduct data analysis, apply statistical modeling techniques, develop visualization/dashboards, communicate and present findings and actionable insights to business stakeholders and non-technical audiences. 
  • Partner with various departments (Marketing, Sales, Product, Finance, Customer Success, etc.) to define KPIs/metrics; to measure impact and effectiveness of features and business processes; to optimize conversion efficiencies; to identify opportunities, assess risk potentials and explain trends
  • Design, analyze, and conduct both simulated and live experiments (A/B and multivariate tests) to drive KPI improvement
  • Build, maintain, and communicate detailed reporting, visualization, and other tools to deliver business insights and to show business health
  • Collaborate and build credibility with the sales team, staying up to date on new initiatives and working to understand their data and reporting needs while providing guidance on best practices
  • Measure the value of our media investments through attribution of media exposure to prospective customer online and offline actions
  • Continuously improve the quality and accessibility of our analytical framework and data reporting infrastructure
  • Assist in data requirements gathering and data validations to improve data platforms

Qualifications/Experience 

  • BA/BS degree in a related quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics). Advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant working experience in a similar role, preferably supporting Go-To-Market and Product analytics in a B2B SaaS organization 
  • Proficient in SQL with the ability to write structured and efficient queries on large data sets and programming/scripting language (e.g. Python, R) 
  • Expert knowledge with business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker) and web analytics tools (e.g. Amplitude, Google Analytics)
  • Expertise with statistical analyses, application, and concepts (e.g. regressions, experiment design, classification etc.)
  • Strong working knowledge of marketing and sales data ecosystem, marketing metrics, data, and processes (e.g., website, CRM, paid media, marketing automation systems, Salesforce)
  • Strategically-minded yet strong detail-orientation with a penchant for data accuracy

Brightcove’s Global Services team is not a typical professional services organization, but is Brightcove’s full-service agency for our clients. The team augments our platform and product by building custom video-centric web, mobile, and OTT solutions for a variety of customers across the globe. Position Overview

A perfect candidate for a Technical Lead in Brightcove’s Global Services team will have strong hands-on coding skills; have organized and led distributed teams while building best practices (unit testing, code reviews, security and performance audits); and, most importantly, will have delighted clients with their teams’ work.  The Technical Lead partners with the Project Manager on each project to ensure a quality and timely deliverable that will delight the customer. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Consulting: Technical Leads are part of the senior team that manage the client and are called upon to facilitate user requirements sessions, design technical specifications, and manage development of documentation to meet client expectations.  In conjunction with a Project Manager, Technical Leads are expected to provide both technical and solution expertise for clients and client engagements.
  • Solution Development: Technical Leads work with Solution Architects and Business Analysts to create solutions for various client needs.  Technical Leads support the analysis of client processes and recommend new business models, workflows, or solutions to best meet client needs.
  • Leadership: Technical Leads manage all technical aspects of the project and also contribute directly by writing code, managing builds and performing other hands-on tasks.  Technical Leads are responsible for the enforcement and guidance of project technical best practices and standards.  Technical Leads have the ability to exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Team Management:Technical Leads manage varying sized project teams to successfully deliver agreed-upon solutions of the highest quality, exceeding customer expectations.  They mentor and guide less experienced consultants.  They are expected to be role models for best practices and to provide technical knowledge sharing.  

 

Skills/Qualifications/Experience

  • 8+ years experience as a technical developer or related work experience; 2+ years in technical leadership roles; experience in a project-based consulting environment
  • Expertise implementing solutions from a defined architecture for various problem types
  • Extensive knowledge in the areas of custom software development: OO Design Patterns; microservices, middleware, etc.
  • Strong proficiency with at least one server-side language (Node.js and/or Python preferred) required
  • Strong proficiency with vanilla JavaScript
  • Strong Object Oriented Programming skills
  • Deep understanding of the React JavaScript framework
  • Understanding data security compliance and security best practices
  • Experience in profiling, debugging and troubleshooting systems
  • Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases; data modeling/design techniques; data interface protocols; database deployment and scalability; database tuning
  • Strong understanding of designing and implementing proper REST APIs
  • Extensive experience with designing systems for scale and reuse, source code management strategies, and release management
  • Strong and effective verbal and written communications skills; as well as strong and effective presentation and facilitation skills
  • Willingness to travel to client locations and collaborate with distributed delivery teams as needed
  • Solid knowledge of system administration and software and hardware configuration and production system deployments; ability to make informed recommendations to customer IT staff; ability to troubleshoot pre- and post-production implementations; security; load balancing and performance
  • AWS experience strongly preferred
  • Understanding differences between multiple delivery platforms, such as mobile vs. desktop, and optimizing output to match the specific platform
  • Knowledge of web accessibility and SEO a plus
  • JIRA and Confluence experience a plus

Working Environment

This role is a hybrid role and thus you must live in a commutable distance to the London office. Interaction and cross team interaction is valuable to us so we would like you to meet with the team regularly, in the London office. We hold quarterly BSocial events so that you can connect with the team. The office is located in the heart of Central London and has a fully stocked kitchen with amenities that include a bike shed, fully stocked showers with towels, shower gel etc.
