Under the general direction of the Manager, works on moderately complex engineering projects and provides engineering support to real-time grid operations and market operations for the California ISO. Primarily responsible for establishing and updating the operating limits to the Grid, documenting the associated operating procedures to support the safe and reliable operation of the system and modeling the market impacts of transmission constraints. Participates in the development of ISO policies and methodologies associated with the reliable operation of the transmission grid and the efficient operation of the ISO market.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Under the general direction of the Manager, acts as a primary point of contact for transactional issues between the ISO and its Stakeholders/Customers addressing issues that may range from real time operational issues to settlement and dispute inquiries. Initiates and coordinates resolution to business issues related to business operations, market transactions, ISO contracts, scheduling, real time operations, metering, settlements, ISO Tariff compliance, and information technology.

The person in this position serves as subject matter expert and technical lead within the PSTD department. Supports highly complex power system analytical assignments, leads technical discussions and implementation of software developments based on the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology, including development/reviewing/approving functional and non-functional business requirements, software design, test plans, and integration plans for both electricity market systems and advanced power systems applications.
