Clover Health

Clover Health (NASDAQ: CLOV) is a data driven health insurance company driving to improve the overall state of healthcare in America. We are hiring software engineers, data scientists, designers and product folks who can help us understand our members’ wellness and steer them clear of any health risks down the road.

Clover Health is hiring a Remote Product Operations Manager

Counterpart: Value-based care, at the point of care.

At Counterpart Health, we are transforming healthcare and improving patient care with our innovative primary care tool, Counterpart Assistant. By supporting Primary Care Physicians (PCPs), we are able to deliver improved outcomes to our patients at a lower cost through early diagnosis and longitudinal care management of chronic conditions.

We are hiring our first Product Operations Manager on the Counterpart Assistant team to help improve the operating model of our pods and product organization. As a company, we employ an empowered pod model for our technology team - putting pods in the center of solving for business and user outcomes. With that model, we’ve been able to scale with fewer processes and systems explicitly managed, but those soft systems are in need of support. The Product Operations Manager will work closely with our VP of Product and our Counterpart Technology leadership team to help reinforce those soft systems to enable more efficient pod and company velocity.

Product operations can have a wide range of framings, at Counterpart the role description with which we most resonate is that of Melissa Perri or Marty Cagan, the The Force Multiplier Model for Product Operations.

The ideal candidate will be data and process oriented, who thrives on figuring out how to more effectively empower rapid iteration and learning and consistently like automating themselves out of a job.

As a Product Operations Manager, you will:

  • Work alongside product managers, designers, engineers, data scientists, researchers, clinical and all of our interdisciplinary pod teams to figure out where we have inefficient cross-team systems.
  • Focus on identifying and solving the highest impact process enhancements for our pods, stakeholders and our leadership team.
  • Be a collaborator with pods in developing KPIs that ladder up to our OKRs for the year and specifically measure the work being shipped in a meaningful way for our users and business.
  • Support and integrate with our user research, customer success, product support, sales, and clinical teams to make sure teams have access to and are engaging with customers regularly and accessing those insights actively.
  • Partner closely with our VP of Product to coalesce roadmaps, status updates, run projects, and deliver improved pod operations.
  • Be accountable to developing and supporting process improvement changes for our technology team’s SDLC and portfolio management to improve overall learning velocity by the pods.

Success in this role looks like:

  • Over the first 90 days you’ll spend time building relationships with the different pods, technology leadership, stakeholders, and customers to understand the current pain points in our operating model. The three focuses will be on our data and insights, voice of the customer, operating model and tooling. A known area of improvement that will be a first project is a better way for us as an organization to manage the end to end delivery and roadmap from engineering progress through product bets to high level executive roadmap(s). At each level, we have known areas of opportunity and inefficiency.
  • Within the first 6 months, success is measured as evolving the team and processes from an improved operating model. Projects should be identified in partnership with leadership, tackled and implemented, and rolled off to the next area of opportunity. As an organization we should be able to measure the efficiency of our learnings and progress and see improvement from the efficiencies of the product operations role.
  • Over time, this individual's performance will be measured as the effectiveness of our pods’ ability to iterate and learn quickly. As a product driven company, our success is predicated on our pods ability to deliver impact to our users and our business. The faster we can iterate and learn, the bigger our impact can be. This individual’s success is tied to removing the sludge from our processes and being a force multiplier for our pods.

You should get in touch if:

  • You have minimum of 5+ years experience.
  • You have at least 3+ years experience working with empowered product organizations.
  • You are comfortable and proficient with SQL and data analytics and can define effective KPIs.
  • You are experienced with product organization tooling and the latest best practice (Jira, Linear, ProductBoard, Aha!, Pendo, etc).
  • You thrive in automating yourself out of a job and moving onto the next problem.

Clover Health is hiring a Remote Director, Analytics

Counterpart: Value-based care, at the point of care.

At Counterpart Health, we are transforming healthcare and improving patient care with our innovative primary care tool, Counterpart Assistant. By supporting Primary Care Physicians (PCPs), we are able to deliver improved outcomes to our patients at a lower cost through early diagnosis and longitudinal care management of chronic conditions.

We are hiring a Director of Analytics on the Counterpart Assistant team to lead our analytics team. The analytics team is a mix of data scientists, analysts, and BI developers working to build our analytics platform, our analytics pipelines, and driving our analytic understanding of the Counterpart Assistant’s impact on improving patients’ outcomes. This role spans internal analysis such as product analytics, external reporting such as customer business reviews, and product functionality in our embedded reporting suite. We deeply value and focus on driving data driven decisions and empowering our pods to be able to generate those insights.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of healthcare clinical and claims data, strong technical expertise, and a passion for improving healthcare through innovative data solutions.

As Director of Analytics, you will:

  • Manage a team of data scientists, analysts, and BI developers to most effectively drive impact for our users and their patients.
  • Focus on identifying and solving the highest impact analytics data platform enhancements both for our users and our business simultaneously.
  • Be a part of the Counterpart technology leadership team, helping build and design OKRs for the product as well as the pods.
  • Be the subject matter expert within Counterpart Assistant for all things relating to our analytics data, our analytics platform, and how other pods leverage this data to drive insights and capabilities.
  • Iteratively improve the analytics data platform, finding ways to deliver value as early as possible in the development process.
  • Articulate how Counterpart can measure the progress it’s making; if you can’t measure it, you can’t describe how you’ve moved it.
  • Be accountable to analytics which drive outcomes. Analytics should drive understanding, enabling us to make data informed decisions, which improve business outcomes.
  • Monitor and address data quality issues, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the analytics data.

Success in this role looks like:

  • Over the first 90 days you’ll spend time building relationships with your new direct reports and broader technology team while understanding the needs across the executive team, product, engineering, data science, clinical and customers. Success is measured by your ability to build relationships and understand the needs of those different stakeholders. It is expected that they will understand the existing analytic systems in place by the end of 90 days. Ideally, within 90 days we are making progress on the end to end systems supporting our analytics.
  • Within the first 6 months, success is measured as evolving the team and processes from a well instrumented (but complex to consistently, repeatedly, and intuitively query) analytics system to one that can be usable by a team of analysts for the vast majority of product and customer analytics. Product analytics should be largely addressable with less variability and less expertise needed of the analytics consumer for understanding performance.
  • Over time, this individual's performance will be measured as a member of the technical leadership team helping set the direction and strategy for how we can continue to scale a data driven technology organization using scalable and repeatable analytics patterns. The end to end analytics needs will be consistently maintained and grown in cost effective ways for Counterpart, while unlocking insights and value for our stakeholders and customers.

You should get in touch if:

  • You have minimum of 8+ years experience.
  • You have at least 4+ years experience working with healthcare data such as FHIR, claims, or EHR data.
  • You are an expert in driving efficacy analyses, both via A/B testing and where A/B testing is not viable.
  • You have experience being part of an empowered product organization.
  • You are an expert with SQL and data analytics, and have an understanding of machine learning approaches.

Benefits Overview

Clover's engineering team is empathetic, caring, and supportive. We are deliberate and self-reflective about the kind of engineering team and culture that we are building, seeking engineers that are not only strong in their own aptitudes but care deeply about supporting each other's growth.

Counterpart Health, a Clover Health subsidiary, is looking for a Senior Software Engineer who specializes in Healthcare Data. This role will serve as our FHIR SME and expand and scale our clinical data platform.  In this role, you will work at the intersection of Engineering and Healthcare Interoperability leveraging your skills as a software engineer to build out functionality to improve our patients outcomes. In this role, you will also work cross functionally with Product Managers, Healthcare SMEs, Clinicians, and other engineers.

As a Clinical Systems Software Engineer, you will:

  • Build out new APIs and functionality on top of FHIR APIs.
  • Be accountable for scaling up our clinical data capabilities as we scale our initiatives.
  • Build out deidentification and synthetic clinical data capabilities.
  • Learn about new tools and technologies to solve problems and move our goals forward.
  • Help the team define and maintain development practices that let us iterate quickly while maintaining quality — including writing tests and documenting key implementations.
  • Mentor other engineers on how to leverage clinical and Interoperability standards.

You will love this job if:

  • You understand the “dirtiness” of clinical dataand seek out ways to improve its quality.
  • You are excited by big, complicated problems and try to solve them with pragmatic, well-engineered solutions. You have a natural intellectual curiosity that drives you to find out how things work and if they can work better.
  • You enjoy working in a fluid environment, defining and owning priorities that adapt to our larger goals. You can bring clarity to ambiguity while remaining open-minded to new information that might change your mind.
  • You are not hesitant to jump in to help fix things that are broken and you feel great responsibility to make sustainable systems. You are happy to fill in the gaps to reach a goal where necessary, even if it does not always fit your job description.

You should get in touch if:

Clover Health is hiring a Remote Product Manager (Clinical Data Platform)

Counterpart: Value-based care, at the point of care.

At Counterpart Health, we are transforming healthcare and improving patient care with our innovative primary care tool, Counterpart Assistant. By supporting Primary Care Physicians (PCPs), we are able to deliver improved outcomes to our patients at a lower cost through early diagnosis and longitudinal care management of chronic conditions.

We are hiring a Product Manager on the Counterpart team to be a member of a pods’ leadership triad obsessed with creating products that 1) advance our mission to improve every life and 2) deliver value to our customers. You will be responsible for owning the product lifecycle from roadmap, research, and design through development and successful landings (at Clover, we measure landings, not launches).

In this role you will be responsible for leading a pod of data engineers and data scientists to develop and manage our clinical data platform. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of clinical data management, strong technical expertise, and a passion for improving healthcare through innovative data solutions.

As a Product Manager, you will:

  • Be a leader on a pod with the product triad: product, engineering and data science. As a healthcare product, we also deeply integrate and coordinate with our clinical teams (MDs, NPs, RNs, MAs, coders, billers, etc).
  • Focus on identifying and solving the highest impact data platform enhancements both for our users and our business simultaneously
  • Be the subject matter expert on the pod for all things relating to our clinical data, our data platform, and how other pods leverage this data to drive insights and capabilities
  • Iteratively improve the clinical data platform, finding ways to deliver value as early as possible in the development process
  • Articulate how the pod can measure the progress it’s making; if you can’t measure it, you can’t describe how you’ve moved it
  • Be accountable to outcomes of the pods, finding solutions to problems and enabling the success of the pod
  • Monitor and address data quality issues, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the clinical data

Success in this role looks like:

  • Key to the first 90 days will be meeting project milestones for external data integrations and internal projects around data accessibility, usability, and quality. In partnership with the rest of the pod, you are able to articulate the value of the pod’s work through metrics and dashboards that show tangible business benefits.
  • As a platform pod, within the first 6 months, you should have fostered effective collaboration across other pods that rely on the data platform. You should demonstrate understanding of their needs and expectations, while designing an ecosystem that is standardized and reliable. At this stage, you should be knowledgeable of the overall data landscape and be able to articulate how data flows through the organization and its role in decision-making.
  • This role leads a pod building data platforms that are scalable, secure, and efficient. As such, over time, you should be able to identify opportunities for improvement or innovation that weren’t immediately obvious. You will own the roadmap and strategy for the pod, driving product outcomes. In addition, you should be a major contributor to our data-driven culture, including training and promoting best practices within and across pods.

You should get in touch if:

  • You have minimum of 2+ years experience working with healthcare data such as FHIR, claims, or EHR data
  • You have a minimum of 4+ years experience working on data platforms
  • You have experience being part of an empowered product organization
  • You are proficient with SQL, data analytics, and an understanding of machine learning approaches
  • You own outcomes. Product launches are fun, but seeing the impact of the pods work driving improved patient outcomes is what motivates you.
