Job Description

The Principal Systems Engineer performs requirements analysis and management, technical planning, systems level design, systems integration, verification and validation, cost and risk management, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Also performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into systems specifications. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal. Ensure the logistical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total system solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints.


This position will work on the ROEM 155mm Howitzer program primarily and help as needed in other areas.

  1. Support system level electro-mechanical and weapons systems integration planning, execution, and reporting
  2. Support NPI activities related to systems integration and test – this includes leading system integration efforts for the hands-on evaluation of prototypes
  3. Ability to work with and train assembly and engineering technicians on integration and troubleshooting procedures
  4. Prepare technical integration documentation, such as plans, procedures, specifications, and integration information sheets
  5. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues found during installation or test
  6. Record and track test failures from finding to complete resolution
  7. Utilize data analysis results to support issue identification and resolution as well as system level requirements verification
  8. Communicate with internal and external customers to find technical solutions to complex requirements with the help of our design authority
  9. Listen to customer requirements to identify gaps in production and test procedures and take steps to reduce or eliminate these gaps
  10. Provide systems engineering and integration support to assess, plan, coordinate, and implement production improvement projects
  11. Develop and improve test procedures to ensure test configurations are properly controlled and documented – identify areas of high risk and work with the team to develop test plans to mitigate risk
  12. Develop test roadmaps and plans that balance development timelines, technical risk mitigation, and program schedules and priorities.
  13. Prepare and/or deliver technical presentations to customers, Elbit America Management or development teams
  14. Ability to travel internationally up to 50% through 2024 and up to 25% after 2024
  15. Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

You will Interact and coordinate with customer test community stakeholders.

Qualifications

 

 

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably electrical, mechanical, systems, or software)
  • BS +9 years related experience in complex electro-mechanical systems engineering experience -or- MS +7 years related experience
  • Proficiency in office technologies including Excel, PowerPoint and MS Word.
  • Proficiency with continuous process improvement methodologies and tool.
  • Ability to compile and interpret business system data.
  • Ability to communicate with management and other functional personnel.
  • Skilled in working in teams.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, preferably mechanical, electrical, systems, or software
  • Lean/Six-Sigma green belt certified (or higher)
  • Experience with DoD and government contract work
  • Extensive development experience in at least one or more of the following engineering disciplines is required: software, mechanical, electrical, optics, fluidics and should possess knowledge of advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership as required during the investigation of complex electro-mechanical weapons systems. Accountable to oversee the development of requirements for different disciplines such as Software, Electrical, Mechanical, Electro-optics and others

Job Description

The Senior Manager, Business Development is responsible for developing business development strategies and tactics to expand the presence of electronic warfare, radar systems, and legacy systems, including the ALQ-99, SLQ-32, and legacy Army ground radar systems. This role will focus on sustainment programs for Navy shipboard radars, airborne radar systems, and legacy Army radar systems.

Principal Responsibilities:

- Manage the daily execution of the business development strategy, plans, and processes to drive sales, increase revenue, expand markets, and accomplish financial objectives in the electronic warfare, Navy radar systems, and legacy Army radar systems space.

- Conduct competitive market analysis, internal review of SWOT, and categorization of opportunities for electronic warfare, Navy radar systems, airborne radar systems (ALQ-99), and legacy Army ground radar systems.

- Seek out opportunities to grow the business pipeline in the Navy radar, airborne radar (ALQ-99), and legacy Army ground radar systems space.

- Identify and explore customer requirements and serve as an expert conduit between customers and the company in Navy sustainment programs, OEM aftermarket opportunities, and legacy radar systems.

- Collaborate with the Segment Director to establish segment targets and metrics to measure the achievement of objectives related to Navy shipboard, airborne radar systems, and Army ground radar systems.

- Develop and use contacts and relationships within the OEM and radar systems industry to respond to competition, pricing, and product demand changes.

- Build and foster effective communication within the customer community, focusing on sustainment of legacy radar systems such as the ALQ-99, SLQ-32, and legacy Army radar systems.

- Work closely with stakeholders, OEMs, and aftermarket programs to understand customer needs and requirements for shipboard radar systems, airborne radar systems, and Army ground radar systems.

- Collaborate with the Sustainment Capture Director on lead/support of business pursuits for OEMs, aftermarket, and legacy radar programs.

- Make suggestions for new product offerings or improvements to sales or marketing efforts in electronic warfare and radar systems.

- Administer or negotiate new business proposals in the Navy and Army radar sustainment and electronic warfare systems space.

- Provide input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility and may contribute to developing the budget.

- Manage presentations to prospective and current customers within assigned markets related to Navy radar, airborne radar, and Army ground radar systems.

- Analyze opportunities for requirements and gaps in electronic warfare and radar systems offerings, partnering strategies, competitive analysis, opportunities for investment, and value creation.

- Serve as a liaison between U.S. customers and Elbit Systems Limited, Marketing, Engineering, Contracts, and other key personnel as required for successful pursuit of new business.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or Marketing required; Master’s preferred.

- 7-10 years of defense industry experience with 3+ years in management.

- Expansive knowledge base focused on electronic warfare, radar systems, legacy Army ground radar systems, ALQ-99, and SLQ-32 sustainment and legacy products and other radar systems.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- A team player and independent thinker with a strong business partner mentality.
