Wealth Management Associate

EllevestRemote (United States)

Ellevest is hiring a Remote Wealth Management Associate

Who We Are

Ellevest is an investing and wealth management company built by women, for women. In a sea of financial services, we stand apart with our mission to get more money in the hands of women, no matter where they’re starting or how far they’ve come. We started by building the only gender-aware online investing platform that takes totally un-ignorable realities (like pay gaps, different salary curves, and women’s longer lifespans) into account. Then we added financial planning services for Ellevest clients, plus a full-service wealth management service that helps high net worth people, families, and institutions align their financial power with their values.

Ellevest was co-founded by Wall Street veteran, Sallie Krawcheck. Prior to Ellevest, Krawcheck was one of the only financial executives of her generation to have held C-suite roles at the largest global banks — as CEO of Merrill Lynch, Smith Barney, US Trust, and Sanford Bernstein and as CFO of Citi. As a venture-funded business, we’ve beat impossibly long odds to raise $145 million in venture-capital funding (women CEOs raise $1 out of every $10,000 Series B fintech dollars). Our investors include: Rethink Impact, Venus Williams, Valerie Jarret, Pivotal Ventures, and Melinda Gates’ family office.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Ellevest is an equal opportunity employer and we value diversity at our company. Data shows that diverse teams are moreinnovative, makebetter decisions, and lead to greateremployee engagement. When hiring, we look for culture add, not culture fit. That means hiring people who bring new perspectives and different experiences to our team. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.

About This Position

As a Wealth Management Associate at Ellevest, you will play a critical role in growing our Wealth Management client base. You will work closely with other members of the Wealth Management team to ensure a best-in-class experience for our HNW and UHNW clients. You will work in partnership with the Financial Advisors, Client Services & Investment teams to create bespoke investment proposals and deliverables for prospects and clients, while working on strategic projects such as creating new proposal presentations for target audiences. You will play a key role in scaling our proposal process and creating processes and workflows that fuel our growth.

Day-to-day you will:

  • Help Financial Advisors win new business opportunities by working closely with Financial Advisors and Investments to create bespoke investment proposals
  • Collaborate with various firm stakeholders to complete Request for Proposals (RFPs) in order to win new institutional opportunities
  • Analyze prospective client portfolios via portfolio screens (i.e. health checks) to analyze how our clients’ portfolios are invested vs. ESG factors
  • Support Ellevest's Wealth Management team in implementing our client experience
  • Manage and create content for Wealth Management’s approved content library and help liaise with investment managers to create/request marketing materials
  • Partner with the Head of Wealth Management and Chief Investment Officer on managing key initiatives crucial to the growth and development of the Wealth Management business. This includes but is not limited to:
    • Impact Reporting
    • Collection of quarterly fund/manager commentary
    • Custom Family Office presentations
    • Financial Planning
  • Mentor analysts and provide guidance as they build complex investment proposals

We’re looking for:

  • 4-6 years of work experience in an analyst and/or associate position within financial services – specifically the private wealth/asset management sphere (Series 65 License and/or CFP® designation preferred but not required. Note: Given our status as a Registered Investment Advisor, we cannot carry FINRA Series 6, 7, 63, or 66 licenses.)
  • Markets knowledge and experience

  • Interest in and knowledge of financial markets and asset classes
  • Adapt to a fast-paced & dynamic work environment; this includes working independently and on a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and constantly reprioritize to meet tight deadlines
  • Passion for our women-oriented mission

Ellevest's compensation framework is based on relevant data, benchmarking and research for comparable companies and on our internal pay equity policies. The prospective annual salary range for this role is $105,000 - $115,000. In addition to base salary, Ellevest compensation offering for full-time employees will also include the following benefits: equity, 401k plan with employer contribution, medical, dental and vision health insurance (80% of premiums covered by employer), unlimited paid time off and flexible scheduling, paid parental leave, learning and development opportunities, financial support for accessing reproductive healthcare, free access to Ellevest digital offering and discounts on Financial Planning and Wealth Management offerings. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including (but not limited to) the applicant's experience, skills, certifications, as well as internal equity among our team.

  • Build and maintain a relationship with the Client Experience (CX), Financial Planning and Wealth Management teams, as they are first in line for understanding and interacting with our end users
  • Coordinate with cross functional stakeholders including Product, Client Experience (CX), Investments and Operations teams, on new product launches to ensure the cohesiveness of the overall user experience
  • Conduct various types of research (Ex: market insights, industry trends; client feedback, user research, etc.) and business analysis to assess opportunities and risks
  • Track progress, assess risk and trade offs, coordinate delivery, and actively communicate contingency plans for the team
  • Communicate across the organization regarding the status of projects in development, as well as post-launch results

We’re looking for:

  • 3+ years of consumer-facing product management experience in the financial services industry; experience in asset and/or wealth management, including experience working with financial operations and/or back office teams, a plus.
  • A strong technical background in software development methodologies and financial technologies
  • An innate curiosity and interest in financial services and fintech industries, systems, and processes
  • Ability to empathize with the client at all times and find ways to delight the user throughout the entire experience; this role will primarily focus on products that support internal client-facing teams
