Glossier is hiring a Remote Senior Manager, Canada Field Sales & Training

You will be joining an agile organization and will be an integral member in building the wholesale business, facilitating the sales process. As the Senior Manager, Canada Field Sales & Training you will be a key Glossier leader, managing a team of Market Specialists that support Sephora locations in key territories, building relationships, educating and training store teams and driving retail sales. You will be expected to independently develop account plans and strategies and make independent decisions in answering questions and explaining how products will benefit customers. You will also collaborate on building the wholesale strategy to ensure we are achieving the Company’s overall goals. You will report to the Director of Field Sales. 

Responsibilities

Sales

  • Drive sales and achieve sales targets for Sephora Canada retail store locations.
  • Recruit, hire and develop a team of regional market specialists (freelance) and assume responsibility for sales efforts, merchandising, events, training and customer service. 
  • In addition to managing a team, this role will be responsible for direct oversight of a small number of top volume doors in the local market. 
  • Serve as the principal, ongoing Glossier representative for in-store retail teams in Canada, serving as the conduit between Sephora CAD retail and Glossier HQ, and providing excellent customer service to meet and/or exceed sales goals for all assigned doors and accounts.  
  • Responsible for all in-store sales efforts including merchandising, events, training, and customer service.  
  • Provide proactive, forward-thinking ideas to support sales efforts and brand recognition expansion.
  • Analyze business performance and respond to opportunities through education and operational adjustments.
  • Serve as brand ambassador, embodying the Glossier values and entrepreneurial spirit. 
  • Consistently demonstrate a solid understanding of sales, product knowledge, events, operations, retail market and cosmetic industry to keep business moving forward by capturing consumer insights/sales trends/traffic patterns and using learnings to influence optimization of the field operation.
  • Think creatively and strategically to ensure business growth month over month during launch year and beyond.

In-Store Retail Experience

  • Engage consumers in the brand and focus on direct selling efforts whenever possible.
  • Educate and train Glossier & Sephora teams on the entire assortment of Glossier product line, thereby increasing the Sephora Beauty Advisors’ ability to recommend Glossier products to customers and driving sales.
  • Assess and analyze Sephora Beauty Advisors incorporation of skills and techniques taught and overall sales performance.
  • Forge strong relationships with both store leadership and Sephora’s Field Support Center  to support and identify opportunities that are consistent with Glossier’s strategic direction.
  • Facilitate training, strategize, plan and execute successful events and create excitement for the brand and products.
  • Partner with retailers to develop and execute innovative in-store events and use learnings to maximize effectiveness of the market calendar long term.

Operations

  • Clearly communicate all relevant updates relating to placement, product assortment, inventory levels, resource needs, market opportunities, among other things, to help the Glossier HQ team understand the opportunities and challenges in key markets, doors, and accounts.
  • Support product development teams by sharing customer and retail feedback in real time.
  • Review retail sales and goals, stock, animation, marketing, selling techniques on a weekly basis, making any necessary adjustments and addressing any issues and opportunities.
  • Maintain responsibility for managing and tracking all budgets for the team within given parameters.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years experience working in Beauty and 3+ years in a managerial role
  • Experience working with Sephora CAD is required
  • Deep understanding of the retail market and current beauty trends
  • Self-starter, solution-minded, highly organized, detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and follow-up skills
  • Ability to efficiently manage and prioritize multiple projects 
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through is a must
  • Must have ability to think strategically, conceptualize new ideas, initiate change and react to fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to coach team on sales reporting and plan achievement 
  • Charismatic individual with strong negotiation and communication talents
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays is required
  • French speaking a plus
  • Travel up to 50%

In accordance with the applicable law, the following represents a good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum compensation range for this position:

  • The estimated annual pay range for this role is $115,000 - $128,000 CAD
    • There may be future opportunities for continued pay progression based on continued strong performance in the role.

Compensation for the role will be determined based on permissible, non discriminatory factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and experience.
