Your Impact:

Handshake is hiring a Senior Product & Design Recruiter, reporting to the Senior Manager of R&D Recruiting. We are seeking an individual who cares about people and enjoys identifying, connecting with, and hiring candidates from diverse backgrounds.

In this role you will work exclusively with our Product and Design orgs to build and shape their teams across all levels, including their leadership hires. You will lead recruiting strategies, build key stakeholder relationships, and develop strategic candidate outreach while working with a curious, kind, and passionate team. 

Your Role:

  • Identify, source, and engage talent to grow the Product and Design teams through creative and diverse multi-channel methods

  • Manage pipeline activity, providing recommendations for improving talent strategies based on data

  • Design, implement, and execute recruiting plans, partnering closely with hiring teams

  • Own hiring manager relationships and improve our hiring processes

  • Ideate, implement, and iterate recruiting and talent best practices across the organization

  • Influence business leaders and educate hiring managers on process, interview best practices, and decision making

  • Work with senior stakeholders to consult, shape, and implement diversity recruitment strategies

  • Create new ways to surprise and delight candidates as they go through our interview process

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, data-driven environment

  • Hire values-aligned individuals to contribute to Handshake’s mission

  • Develop an extensive understanding of Handshake’s business and culture

Your Experience:

  • 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with at least 1 year supporting Product and/or Design teams

  • At least 2 years of in-house experience

  • Successful at engaging and closing candidates at a high volume

  • Strong history of collaborating inclusively with hiring managers and interviewers to design processes that attract candidates from underrepresented backgrounds

  • Demonstrated ability to use data to design recruiting plans, optimize our interview processes, and communicate with hiring managers and other stakeholders

  • Working knowledge of ATS systems and pipeline metrics (Greenhouse/Gem preferred)

  • Bias towards humility, curiosity, and humor

  • Outstanding organizational and follow-up skills, strong time-management abilities

  • Great judgment and a history of working with highly confidential information 

Compensation range

  • $142K - $170k

Your impact

Handshake is hiring a Senior Software Engineer role on the Employer Product Team. In this role, you will contribute to the team’s mission of driving SMB Employer growth through product innovation; acquisition, and revenue generation. You will have the opportunities to lead large projects through all developmental stages-- from early brainstorming and requirements refining, visual design, architectural design, experimental design, scoping, execution, and finally release.

Your role

  • Your day-to-day work will feature regular collaboration on a cross-functional team with a designer, product manager and other engineers. You will also engage frequently with engineers, support, marketing and data analysts across the organization.
  • You will architect and build features that our SMB employers will use daily.
  • You will lead by example in maintaining a high standard of quality in your own work and in the feedback provided to peers in code review and architecture discussions.
  • You will lend your technical knowledge and experience to influence the team’s roadmap and prioritization of innovation and operational health initiatives such as quality control and on-call.
  • You will provide mentorship to engineers and unblock and support your team to meet deliverables.

Your experience

  • You have experience as a full stack engineer, and are confident driving architectural decisions on both frontend and backend while being proficient in SQL for query and data analysis.
  • You have demonstrated success collaborating with partners in product, design and analytics to define, build, and ship great products and experiences.
  • You have experience leading large projects from idea to high quality delivery.
  • You act with empathy when working with fellow engineers and coworkers, and enjoy providing mentorship and guidance to enable and support your team.

Your impact

As a Product Specialist you are responsible for ensuring the education partners you engage with are educated on full utilization of our product and adopt critical Handshake features as identified by account needs and Handshake priorities.  

You will create repeatable strategies for driving engagement across our education partners' teams, driving product adoption by leading onsite and virtual trainings, and 1:1 customer intake meetings to assess their needs and promote feature usage. In this role, you will be responsible for combining detailed product expertise with sales acumen to drive the success of our products in the market with Top 500 Eductation partners and other accounts as is relevant to business needs. You will serve as a key point of contact for both customers and internal teams, bridging the gap between technical specifications and customer needs. 

You will report to the Senior Director of Success and Education, working closely with customer success, product, sales, and marketing to deliver a world-class customer experience and drive our business through product adoption and increased partner competency in the platform functionality. 

This role requires travel to partner onsite trainings, conferences, Handshake events and workshops, as well as virtual trainings. You should expect 95% of your time involve travel, with additional variance based on seasonality and business need.

Your role

In-Person/Virtual Services & Custom Solutions

  • Provide clear and comprehensive technical guidance to customers, ensuring they fully understand how Handshake's product can be utilized to achieve their specific goals and objectives.

  • Deliver personalized training sessions, both one-on-one and in group settings, that are tailored to the unique needs and preferences of individual customers, such as administrators and employer relations teams.

  • Proactively identify and address customer-specific requirements, customizing product solutions to ensure optimal fit and effectiveness.

  • Collaborate closely with product development and engineering teams to ensure the feasibility and successful implementation of customer-requested workflows and features.

Your impact:

Handshake is looking to bring on a Support Specialist, Contractor to provide support to our employer, student, and career services users. This role is a 6 month contract with the possibility of contract extension or conversion to our permanent Support Specialist role upon evaluation of fit for the role and company needs. If you are resourceful and attuned to detail, love digging into a complex and technical product, building strong relationships with customers and team members, and solving a wide variety of questions, bugs, and workflow needs - this is the role for you! 

You will work closely with our Support Team to provide efficient and effective support and contribute to an overall seamless experience for users. You will help unblock our users, share trends and learnings with the Support Team, and continue to improve the customer experience and our team operations.As an advocate for our career centers, students, and employer users, you’ll improve the Handshake user experience and make an impact on our mission to democratize opportunity.

Your role:

  • Contribute 40 hours per week during our business hours, Monday through Friday. Provide amazing email and phone support to Handshake customers via internal ticketing systems. Your day-to-day will consist of:

    • 90%: resolving questions, bugs, feedback, and general inquiries. See daily averages below:

      • Ticket Volume: ~20 - 30 email tickets per day

      • Phone Volume: ~10 calls over a 4 hour daily phone shift

    • 5%: attending team meetings (1-3 per week)

    • 5%: completing administrative tasks (emails, checking daily announcements, training, etc.)

  • Note: email and phone tickets will involve highly technical troubleshooting and workflows, building and troubleshooting custom reports, and making sure to provide tailored, personal responses while building relationships

  • Use app demo environments, troubleshooting tools, help center, team communication channels, and internal documentation systems to find the quality answer for a wide range of users

  • Maintain a standard level of excellence in regards to response times, resolution times, equal share of queue, and the quality of the customer support experience

  • Be both a support specialist and an experienced consultant for users of the Handshake platform

Utilize internal tools to manage issues between Customer Support, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering

Your impact

Your experience

  • 4+ years of experience in a systems analyst, sales operations, or commissions analyst role, preferably within a start-up or similarly fast-paced environment.
  • Strong experience with Salesforce, Spiff, and/or other GTM systems.
  • Proven experience troubleshooting and resolving system issues, including data sync and workflow automation challenges.
  • Excellent data analysis skills, with a proven ability to interpret and manipulate large datasets to inform business decisions.
  • Hands-on experience managing system implementations, process improvements, and workflow automation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and collaborate effectively with multiple teams.

We are seeking a seasoned and results-driven Payroll Analyst to join Handshake’s Global Payroll team. In this position, you will have the chance to lead the global Payroll operations of our rapidly growing company with employees located in the US and Europe.

Your role

  • Perform end-to-end processing of payroll in US and Europe to ensure accurate and on-time payment for 600+ employees while adhering to various pay schedules (e.g. semi-monthly, monthly).
  • Analyze and detect opportunities for improvement and recommend scalable processes and best practices.
  • Assist the Payroll team with compliance-related matters such as but not limited to multi-jurisdiction tax withholdings, annual audits, balancing and reconciling paydata etc.
  • Provide support to various projects and initiatives that enhances Handshake’s operational rigor in order to accommodate its rapid growth.
  • Provide exceptional support to Handshake employees worldwide by resolving issues and responding to inquiries in an effective and timely manner.
  • Create, enhance, and/or maintain payroll documentation and checklists as it relates to day-to-day processing, operational procedures, compliance, and other payroll-related matters.
  • Collaborate with internal (e.g., HR) and external stakeholders to ensure that Handshake’s policies and systems are equipped to meet current and future demands.

Your experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant and progressive payroll experience; public company payroll experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, and/or Accounting; CPA and/or CPP designation preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Workday HCM and Workday Payroll is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of accounting, taxation, and finance concepts as it relates to payroll.
  • Proficiency in utilizing various software applications such as Google Suite and Microsoft Excel.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, combined with the ability to think creatively and embrace new ideas

Your impact

  • Pre-sales experience: prioritization and outreach including scalable email communication and 1:1 customization

Your impact

As the Lead People Business Partner for R&D, you will serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to our R&D organization and leadership team.   • Drive talent management processes, ensuring the right development opportunities are provided to employees to grow and succeed within the organization. Partner with the L&D team to identify and implement relevant programs.

Your experience

  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior HRBP role supporting R&D organizations. 
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, coach, and advise senior leaders and executives.
  • Proven experience supporting R&D or technical teams in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Strong understanding of how the R&D function operates within the broader business, with the ability to translate business needs into effective people strategies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex HR challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and come up with creative solutions - you are an adept and agile problem solver!
  • Ability to balance strategic leadership responsibilities with a bias towards action - you have experience with managing both short-term and long-term goals
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred.

  • Collaborate with the VP of Sales, Sales Leaders, Account Executives, SDRs, and Revenue Operations to optimize lead volume and quality, deliver a healthy pipeline of qualified outbound leads and exceed outbound pipeline and ARR targets, SDR team quota and individual quotas.
  • Collaborate closely with our Marketing & cross-functional demand generation stakeholders to develop and execute on lead generation campaigns, improve SLA on Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs), improve conversion rate of Inbound MQLs to qualified sales opportunities and exceed inbound pipeline and ARR targets.
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking to drive higher lead conversion, accelerate ARR, and reduce ramp time for new SDR/BDR hires.

  • Proven ability to negotiate large government contracts while developing off-cycle pipeline and new lead generation
  • Proven success selling enterprise-wide solutions

  • A strong history of quota attainment and excellent performance
  • Experience preparing account plans and business value narratives

Your role

Your experience

  • Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems or Business Administration.
  • Experience implementing/enhancing/maintaining a Workday HRIS on a global scale is a must.
  • Minimum 5 years of configuration experience with the Workday Product Suite, with expertise in at least five of the following product areas: Core HCM (required), Recruiting, Benefits, Advanced Compensation (required), Performance Management, Learning, Time Tracking and Absence Management.

Your impact

As a Relationship Manager you are responsible for ensuring your education partners are healthy, happy, successful, and retained. 

You will create repeatable and reusable tactics for driving engagement across our university partners' teams, which could include everything from webinars, email nurture, product hooks, etc. You will channel the voice of the customer both quantitatively and qualitatively to rally the necessary people and highlight success.

Your role

Product Knowledge

  • Answering questions regarding the Handshake product daily

  • Identifying, diagnosing, and helping customers resolve data health issues

  • Expanding and deepening product adoption and usage amongst your career center partners

  • Gathering, documenting, and sharing best practices on how university partners can better leverage the platform to drive student engagement

  • Deeply learning and understanding the career services space (operations, structure, and metrics) 

  • Consulting with university partners on their workflows to help them adapt their processes to the Handshake product and achieve student success

Relationship Management

Partner Success, Health, and Retention

  • Ensuring successful implementation for all new partners and partner offices in your book of business. 

  • Ensuring high and swift renewal rates. This may include the management of detailed contracts and security requests that are nuanced to each partner

  • Tracking detailed subjective health assessments to pair with data-driven account health score.

  • Collaborating with Handshake’s Product and Engineering Teams to ensure that customer needs are met in an efficient and timely manner. 

  • Understanding trends with your accounts via data reporting and dashboards and taking appropriate actions to keep account health high

  • Using Industry landscape, current HigherEd trends, historical relationship health and product to articulate/advice /suggest clear actions

Operations and Marketing

    • Helping scale, develop, document and peer-train on internal processes to support users & peers

    • Developing the relevant topic, format and audience attendance for targeted programming (meetups) for key Education partners

    • Leading tailored presentations for select stakeholders on all 3 sides of the business (students, career services and employers). 

Your experience

Overview: This role involves working with a strategic set of schools: building deep relationships and providing thought partnership and consultation in their utilization of Handshake. Additional desired qualifications include: Prior experience with the Handshake Product, commitment to travel 3-4 times per month to conduct onsites with partners and comfort with discomfort and an ability to devise creative solutions. 

  • Deep understanding of the higher education landscape and in depth product knowledge

Your impact

In this role, you will be responsible for defining and managing Handshake's omni-channel digital and offline advertising campaigns to meet customer acquisition targets for both our enterprise and self-service products. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Demand and Campaign Marketing, you will own the execution, optimization, and operations of paid media channels, working to improve campaign performance through testing and innovation. You will manage a variety of channels including paid search, paid social, display, radio, print-media, out-of-home and more, while developing forecasts and budgets for these initiatives. The role requires analyzing campaign effectiveness, providing insights for continuous optimization, and building processes to scale emerging media. 

Your role

  • Define and manage digital and offline advertising strategy to achieve acquisition targets and lower customer acquisition costs

  • Own operations, optimization, and execution across all paid search ad channels to deliver against pipeline creation (growth) and ROI (quality) goals for the business

  • Test and optimize on a per-channel basis to improve campaign performance

  • Identify and deliver innovation opportunities to bring fresh, creative thinking to ensure Handshake leverages digital and offline advertising to the fullest extent

  • Understand the full buyer’s journey from awareness to conversion and proactively consider how growth marketing can support at every stage in the journey 

  • Drive reporting and analysis on campaign and channel effectiveness to provide actionable insights and make informed decisions for continuous optimizations across operations, targeting, creative, and landing pages

Your experience

  • 5-7+ years proven experience in B2B SaaS performance marketing, digital marketing, or a growth marketing role 

  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated success implementing paid digital performance media channels including digital and offline 

  • Experience paid search, paid social, display, radio, OOH, and programmatic 

  • Fluency with digital ad channel data, metrics, measurement, and analytics

  • Ability to lead multiple initiatives and deliver under tight deadlines

  • Experience building strong rapport and partnership with Demand Generation, MOPS, GTM Ops, and Product

  • Proficiency with Salesforce, LinkedIn Advertising Platform, Google Ads  

  • Product-led growth experience is a plus

Your impact

Handshake is hiring a Business Development Representative supporting the Strategic Sales Team (our largest, highest spending accounts from the Fortune 100+) on the Employer side of our business. In this role, you will represent Handshake by helping our potential and current customers successfully navigate their journey with our all-in-one early talent recruiting platform connecting them to 12M+ students and alumni across 90% of top educational institutions in the US (and growing).  

You will engage effectively in written form and conduct high-level conversations with early talent experts and senior business executives in prospect accounts to fuel our company's growth. You will work with our Marketing Team to improve our campaigns and messaging and partner closely with our Sales Team to create and execute a territory plan. This is a fun, fast-paced, and demanding environment.

Your role

With a mix of solid process and creativity, you will help drive new business revenue through both inbound and outbound opportunity generation, including: 

  • Prospecting and generating leads with employers
  • Collaborating closely with your Strategic Account Executives and cross functional partners to develop strategic account plans to target ATLs (above the line) prospects, and messaging/talk-tracks
  • Establish rapport with all levels of customers including senior executives
  • Establish exciting new relationships and opportunities, and meet with prospective Employers
  • Qualifying new opportunities and handling complex objections
  • Use Salesforce for contact and account management and forecasting
  • Establish rapport with all levels of customers, especially with senior executives
  • Continuously improving your approach by using data-driven solutions to track your results
  • Meeting - and exceeding! - your monthly quota to help the team hit our Employer growth objectives
  • This will be a hybrid role, so you must be willing to work from our San Francisco/NYC office with the ability for domestic travel up to 40%

You will have an opportunity to learn and grow in this role. We support our BDRs and seek to promote BDRs internally based on demonstrating success in the role, alignment with our values, and a passion for helping students.

Your experience

  •  2+ years of professional experience, including 1+ years of Handshake sales experience in EDU or Employer sales facing role with annual commitment agreements 
  • 6 months minimum of Outbound SDR Experience (Mid-Market or Enterprise)
  • 80% average attainment to quota over the last quarter or more, no months below 70% (ramp months not eligible)
  • A track record of building 3X in pipeline coverage
  • Consistent measurable overachievements in past experiences and strong history of quota attainment and performance at Handshake
  • Ambitious and self-motivated with comfort in a quota-carrying environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, rapidly changing environment
