  • Interest in threat detection/identificationin an arms race situation. Attackers are constantly trying to bypass our systems. We need to patch vulnerabilities in our existing detection methods that attackers are exploiting as well as come up with new methods and techniques.
  • Customer focus: this is both a product team as well as a research team. We need to be willing and able to work with the codebase and provide value to our customers.
  • Ability to execute. What we want is demonstrated ability to get things done and work through impediments when they arise.
  • Staying informedabout developments in Data Science, statistics and related fields. The ideal candidate can read and implement the ideas of research papers.
 
 Minimum Requirements:
  • Advanced degree in Data Science, Data Analysis, Statistics, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience performing data analysis
  • Demonstrated experience with software experience fundamentals: command line, version control, pull request review, software maintenance, etc.
  • Proficiency in analytical programming in Python, R or Julia (Python is preferred)

About the role
Imperva’s Infrastructure and Cloud Operations team is 3 years old and is staffed with senior leadership from Netflix, Cloudflare, Amazon, Fastly and other major corporations. Our mission is to rebuild Impervas pops and core infrastructure with new modern technologies, embracing Infrastructure as code at all levels with automation as a core requirement for any and all projects. 

 

We are looking for an experienced SRE to work with our Network Automation Team. Your responsibility will be to help design and build the infrastructure that will enable our next generation Network Automation platform that we use to support our teams and our customers.
These tools will have to scale with our growing platform and customer base, and will drive operational excellence for the Imperva globally distributed network. The person taking this role will have significant input in decisions that will have a major impact on Imperva’s infrastructure and how we serve our customers.

 

As an SRE in the ICO organization, you will work with your team solving problems, supporting and optimizing the infrastructure programmatically.  You will work with your team to improve the overall availability, reliability,  performance, and security of the infrastructure under control.

 

Responsibilities
  • Work with the Network Automation Team to build and deploy infrastructure supporting our new automation platform
  • Apply SRE core tenets of measurement (SLI/SLO/SLA), eliminate toil, and reliability modeling
  • Establish metrics for data-driven decisions to help increase availability, reliability, and velocity
  • Build and maintain, and evolve SLO and SLI network/system/application baselines
  • Assist with  go/no go preplanning, verification/validation, and review of existing and new product/services
  • Proactively analyze data and test the integrity of network/systems to ensure production applications and services are operating optimally
  • Work with internal customers as needed to troubleshoot and resolve business affecting issues
  • Escalations, incident response, RCA, and blameless postmortem 
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation




Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of professional experience within a cloud/web/CDN scale infrastructure
  • Experience with Python and Go. C/C++ a plus
  • Expert knowledge of Linux systems, network programming and protocols TCP, UDP, DNS, TLS/SSL, HTTP
  • Experience with BGP and Anycast routing is a plus
  • Experience with DevOps principles and concepts such as Infrastructure as Code (Ansible/Saltstack), CI/CD (Gitlab, Jenkins, Git), monitoring and visualization (Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Experience with big data technologies such as NoSQL/RDBMS, Redis, ElasticSearch, Kafka
  • Experience with containers and container management  (Docker, Kubernetes)

The Opportunity:

The Opportunity:
As a Technical Account Manager, you will create and maintain long-term relationships with Imperva strategic customers, manage complex implementation and onboarding projects. Manage consulting assignments and technical escalations, as well work closely with HQ teams for our Incapsula Cloud and SecureSphere products (Dev, QA, Security, Sr. Management) in order to get issues resolved. You will become a technical authority of Incapsula Cloud and SecureSphere WAF and DAM technologies, while constantly improving best practices for solutions and services: DDoS protection - infrastructure, DNS and cloud-based application services, Website security, CDN, Load Balancing, and SIEM integrations.

Responsibilities:
 

  • Support the Imperva cloud and on-premise security product deployments for assigned accounts.
  • Act as a primary, single point-of-contact for assigned accounts.
  • Keep customer teams up to date via ongoing status about onboarding, configuration, and tuning efforts, cases, feature requests (RFEs) and current news from the field on the latest security trends and developments as well as product release notes.
  • Perform quarterly systems health checks and service reviews.
  • Become a champion by accelerating case closures or increasing visibility on pain points with their deployments. Work with customers, partners, customer account teams and other internal Imperva teams to reach timely resolutions.
  • Create and deepen customer relationships by performing on-site customer.
  • Analyze customer data such as case trends, traffic, alert and attack information to make solid recommendations for improving systems health and overall security posture.
  • Assessing the customer’s technical environment and requirements while managing expectations and following through on solutions or consulting on deployments. Required Technical Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Technical Support (tier 2-3) role.
  • Documented experience as Technical Account Manager, or Pre/Post Sales background within the web/network/information security industries.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with Cloud, Security or Network related products.
  • Proven ability to manage complex implementation and onboarding projects, consulting assignments, and technical escalations related to DDoS protection, including infrastructure, DNS and application services, Website security, CDN, and Load Balancing.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with Internet Security and Networking Technologies such as TCP/IP, HTTP, Load balancers, Proxies and Firewalls as well as experience with Relational Databases (MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL or DB2).
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate business needs, network infrastructure, web application architecture, security requirements, and DNS configurations of clients to deliver appropriate integration solutions.
