Alation Data Engineer | About You

As an Alation Data Engineer, you are responsible for implementing and maintaining Alation’s data catalog platform, ensuring efficient data discovery, governance, and collaboration across the organization. You will work closely with data architects, analysts, and various stakeholders to build scalable solutions that drive business insights. Your expertise in Alation will ensure key data is organized, accessible, and aligned with governance policies, empowering teams to make data-driven decisions.

Alation Data Engineer | Day-to-Day

  • Implement, configure, and manage the Alation Data Catalog platform to ensure data availability, accuracy, and performance.
  • Integrate Alation with various data sources, including cloud storage, databases, and data lakes.
  • Collaborate with data architects and analysts to design solutions that enhance data discovery, governance, and usage across the organization.
  • Develop and maintain metadata management and data lineage to provide visibility into data assets and ensure comprehensive governance.
  • Enforce data governance policies and best practices within Alation to ensure compliance, security, and data quality.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to catalog new data sources, update assets, and enhance the accessibility and usability of data across the organization.

Alation Data Engineer | Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, with hands-on Alation Data Catalog implementation.
  • Proficiency in metadata management, data governance, and data lineage tools, ensuring data visibility and compliance.
  • Experience integrating Alation with cloud databases, on-prem systems, and data lakes (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
  • Strong SQL skills with familiarity in ETL pipelines, data modeling, and transformation processes.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), data warehousing technologies, and API integrations (e.g., REST APIs).
  • Problem-solving and communication skills to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams, with scripting knowledge (Python) for automation as a plus.

Clinical Data Integration Specialist | About You

As a Clinical Data Integration Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the clinical trial management process by migrating and integrating data while ensuring seamless data flow across platforms. You have a passion for optimizing operations and have experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver efficient, compliant, and high-quality solutions. Your technical expertise and problem-solving skills are crucial for facilitating system integration and supporting the clinical operations team.

Clinical Data Integration Specialist | Day-to-Day

  • Collaborate with Medidata teams to migrate study data from classic CTMS to Rave CTMS, preparing data loader and Ingestor files while mapping data and performing data cleaning activities.
  • Attend project meetings to align with team objectives and provide updates on migration activities.
  • Develop migration, implementation, and validation plans utilizing knowledge of Meds Ingestor and Medidata CTMS, maintaining comprehensive documentation related to integration processes and system configurations.
  • Design and create reports and dashboards using visual analytics based on data extracted from CTMS.
  • Contribute to the development of test case scenarios, conduct dry runs to ensure a smooth migration process, and perform system testing and troubleshooting to resolve integration issues.
  • Maintain clear communication with team members and stakeholders throughout the migration process to ensure alignment and address any concerns.

Clinical Data Integration Specialist | Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in clinical data management, systems integration, or related roles.
  • Proven experience with clinical data management systems and integration solutions, particularly with Medidata CTMS and the Rave CTMS platform.
  • Proficiency in data mapping, data cleaning, and preparing migration files for integration, with a strong understanding of clinical trial processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Expertise in integration tools and technologies (e.g., APIs, ETL tools, middleware) and experience with Trial Master File Operations to integrate with Veeva.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively both in a team environment and independently.
  • Familiarity with visual analytics and reporting tools is a bonus.
