This is a great opportunity for individuals without prior insurance experience, but who are eager to learn and thrive in a dynamic environment within an Insurance company.

What you will be doing

  • You will become a valuable member of an expanding Claims team, playing a crucial role in achieving the company's objectives.
  • You will be responsible for handling FNOL- first notification of loss calls/claims for our motor customers and responding promptly to customer inquiries and routing customers to the best supplier.
  • You will ensure excellent levels of customer satisfaction and provide professional customer support.
  • You will be the person our customer speaks to in their time of need.

      • Monday to Friday: shifts will run until 9pm
      • Saturday: shifts will run between 8am - 5pm
      • Sunday: shifts will run between 10am - 5pm

Role Overview:

As the Claims Customer Team Leader at Zego, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of our Customer Claims Handlers/FNOL team, your primary focus will be on managing the day-to-day operations of the team, ensuring that customer contacts are handled proactively but with laser focus on quality and excellence whilst also understanding applying a commercial and pragmatic approach. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of motor insurance and customer service, and the ability to work collaboratively across various departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Management:

  • You will lead, manage, and develop a team of Customer Claims Handlers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • You will set clear performance expectations, conduct regular reviews, and provide ongoing coaching and support to team members.
  • You will ensure the team operates efficiently, with well-defined roles, responsibilities, and objectives.
  • You will undertake regular 121 review sessions with your team members in accordance with frequency agreed with your line manager and ensure development plans and priorities are in place to ensure continuous improvement through self learning including growth and goal setting.
  • You will own the strategy and team capacity planning ensuring the right people are in the right place and the right volumes are coming through to the team.

Operational Management:

  • You will manage the daily operations of the Customer Claims team working predominantly on the phones, including case assignment, workload distribution, and process optimisation.
  • You will develop and implement best practices for fraud detection, ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • You will monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track team performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • We are looking for a dedicated and flexible individual to join our team. This position requires availability to work 40 hours per week. Our standard working hours include weekdays, evenings and weekends, and you will be expected to work a 5 out of 7 days per week shift schedule
    • Monday to Friday: shifts will run until 9pm

  • You will identify training needs within the team and provide appropriate development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • You will complete regular quality audits on calls. 
  • You will stay up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques in delivering best customer service and fraud prevention, and ensure the team is informed of relevant updates.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • You will have previous demonstrable experience within motor insurance.
  • You will have great previous experience in coaching and mentoring.
  • You will have great communication and organisational skills.
  • You will have strong analytical skills.

As an Application Fraud Investigator at Zego, you will be a key member of our forward-thinking, tech-driven fraud team. As a Fraud Investigator

  • Fraud Analysis: Review and assess policy referrals from internal and external sources, identifying potential fraud cases based on established indicators and risk factors.
  • Investigative Action: Conduct investigations by cancelling fraudulent policies where applicable, maintaining our fraud database, and performing data entry tasks related to ongoing cases.
  • Data Management: Collect and analyse fraud data, track investigation outcomes, and document cost savings associated with fraud prevention efforts.
  • Tools & Techniques: Leverage a variety of digital tools, databases, and internet resources to profile potential fraud and guide investigations toward the correct outcome.
  • Evidence Gathering: Assess the complete evidential landscape to ensure proper decisions are made, securing all necessary documentation and evidence throughout the process.
  • Fraud Trends: Proactively report new fraud patterns and Modus Operandi to our intelligence analysts to keep ahead of emerging threats.
  • Compliance & Protocols: Ensure full compliance with internal protocols, Insurance Fraud Bureau (IFB) standards, and all system requirements.
  • External Collaboration: Coordinate follow-up investigations with external bodies, including regulatory and licensing authorities, other insurers, and law enforcement, while managing Data Protection Act (DPA) requests.
  • Document Validation: Conduct document verification to ensure authenticity and accuracy in support of investigations.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of sales, underwriting, claims, and other company processes by identifying areas of vulnerability and suggesting improvements.
  • System Testing: Participate in system search trials, providing feedback to Fraud Management on the effectiveness of anti-fraud measures.
  • Regulatory Adherence: Maintain strict adherence to regulatory standards, including those related to the fair treatment of customers.

What you will need to be successful

  • Able to perform in a fast paced start-up environment and be strategic and inquisitive thinker
  • Fraud experience in a insurance setting is essential.
  • Strong Claims handling experience in an insurance company - desirably with an Insurtech or Motor Insurance provider.
  • Good working knowledge of the MOJ and OIC portals.
  • Sound knowledge of liability scenarios as well as a good sense of commercial awareness.
  • A strong understanding of motor insurance indemnity including the Road Traffic Act and Article 75.
  • Litigation experience (nice to have).
  • Experience in using and maintaining a fraud system and have a good understanding of the Fraud Act 2006.

We are looking for a Senior Pricing Actuary to be a pivotal contributor to our Pricing, Tooling, and Modelling team. This role involves building sophisticated risk, demand, and market models, conducting rigorous analyses, and providing actionable insights to optimise our insurance pricing strategies. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, refine, and validate risk, demand, and market models using advanced statistical techniques and actuarial methods
  • Integrate telematics and other novel data sources to enhance pricing sophistication
  • Collaborate with the technical pricing, street pricing, and product teams to implement pricing changes and ensure alignment with business objectives
  • Ensure robust model validation, back-testing, and continuous model improvement
  • Communicate complex data concepts and model outcomes to technical and non-technical stakeholders through clear data storytelling

Required Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science or related field
  • Experience: Proven experience in UK non-life insurance technical pricing and modelling, with a strong focus on model development
  • Technical Skills:
    • Pricing Tooling: Hands-on experience with  Akur8, Emblem or similar pricing modelling tools
    • Statistical Methodology: In-depth knowledge of GLMs and other machine learning algorithms
    • SQL: Some knowledge of SQL, particularly with cloud data warehouses like Snowflake
  • Software Engineering: Some experience with version control systems (e.g., git)
  • Soft Skills:

Who we're looking for

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist (Pricing) to be a pivotal contributor to our Pricing, Tooling, and Modelling team. This role involves building sophisticated risk and market models, conducting rigorous analyses, and providing actionable insights to optimise our insurance pricing strategies. As well as building these models, you will play an active role in improving and extending our analytics tooling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine risk, demand, and market models using statistical techniques and actuarial methods
  • Analyse insurance data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvements
  • Collaborate with the technical and street pricing teams to implement pricing changes effectively 
  • Communicate complex data concepts and model outcomes to a diverse set of stakeholders
  • Support continuous improvements by integrating new tools and technologies into the pricing process

Required Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Data Science or related field
  • Experience: Proven experience in non-life insurance pricing and modelling and advanced data science, with a strong focus on model development, deployment, and tooling
  • Technical Skills:
    • Python Proficiency: Strong Python programming skills, with experience in developing and maintaining analytics packages and tools. Familiarity with data science libraries such as pandas and scikit-learn
    • SQL: Proficient in SQL, particularly with cloud data warehouses like Snowflake
    • Data Tools: Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (we’re on AWS) and data visualisation tools (Looker, matplotlib, seaborn)
  • Software Engineering: Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and software development best practices in a data-intensive environment
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and project management skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively across teams and present complex information in a clear, accessible way

We are looking for a Senior Pricing Actuary (Technical Pricing) who will play a key role in defining and delivering our pricing sophistication strategy aiming to implement best-in-class pricing. You will partner with the Street Pricing and Pricing, Tooling, & Modelling teams in initiating and driving the vision, strategy, and deliverables to meet key objectives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

What we are looking for

You will use a combination of outstanding analytical reasoning, business acumen, and technical skills to bring the risk, demand, and market models to an implementable, technical price. You will use your ability to analyse and understand complex data to drive decisions on technical pricing models. You will have strong cross-functional skills and will be comfortable working closely with both actuarial and non-actuarial teams. You should be a self-starter who can manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive them to completion. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Pricing, Tooling & Modelling team to review, challenge, and contribute to the development of risk, demand, and market models
  • Develop the implementable, technical price based on the underlying models taking a mid- to long-term view of performance, external trends, costs etc.
  • Collaborate closely with the Street Pricing team to bring the technical price to market, with required commercial adjustments.
  • Define and drive the Pricing Sophistication Strategy and Roadmap for Zego including a continuous monitoring of the performance of all technical prices
  • Develop, implement, and monitor KPIs aimed at the forward looking performance of each book, including the expected, prospective rating strength
  • Analyse insurance data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvements
