Required 5-7+ years of working experience in Design, Build, Maintenance, and Administration of NoSQL distributed database systems like Datastax Cassandra and good experience on Legacy Databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, IBM DB2 UDB, Oracle DB, Graph DBs, etc. Needs to have experience in Google Cloud Platform or similar Cloud (AWS, Azure, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Experience in Designing and deploying Highly Scalable Cassandra Database clusters on Cloud.

  • Cockroach DB (Distributed SQL Database). So distributed database systems deployment Support and ACID Databases Support knowledge required

  • Experience in designing, implementing, and deployment of large-scale web and database infrastructures that are highly available, performing, cost-effective, and sustainable.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts in enhancing performance and providing increased functionality.

  • Strong knowledge of Cassandra schema, CQL query, Cassandra command-line utility, and DataStax ops center.
  • Experience with GCP Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, and Google managed databases.(Cloud Spanner, Bigtable, CloudSQL, etc..) is big plus
  • Defining and delivering robust monitoring solutions for database tiers that encompass both infrastructure and application-level perspectives.
  • Extensive experience with designing and implementing database infrastructure and processes to support true 24x7x365 operations, by reaching the expectation of no downtime for database maintenance.
  • Analyzing incidents, performance, metrics, and trends to proactively identify and resolve potential site issues before they develop.
  • Proactively analyze performance to identify bottlenecks and handle incidents, bugs, and provide solutions with root cause analysis.
  • Performance monitoring and query fine-tuning, Problem determination and troubleshooting, interacting with UNIX and Application group and playing a diverse role with a large team of DBREs.

    About the role 

    As a Security Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and managing security technologies and the supporting infrastructure.  You will  be responsible for ensuring systems are secure, highly available, fault tolerant, and scale to meet business needs.

    We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to help build and maintain the infrastructure powering our ecommerce platform with a focus on Cloud Infrastructure Security.     You Will:

    • Play a critical role on our Cloud Security strategy: Manage and resolve vulnerability findings related to Cloud Infrastructure, work with the SOC on enriching data sources such as our SIEM and various cybersecurity toolsets.
    • Implement security and compliance related controls inline with HIPAA, PCI, and NIST
    • Independently lead key projects in support of business, security and technology strategy.
    • Manage Infrastructure through automation (Infrastructure as Code - terraform knowledge preferred)
    • Perform and run blameless RCAs on incidents and outages aggressively looking for answers that will prevent incident reoccurrence.
    • Define, Design, and implement DevOps practices ensuring security, availability and scalability of production systems with a strong focus on excellent customer experience
    • Manage incidents and emergency response, track outages, ensure data integrity and engineer releases to promote secure, efficient and rapid deployments.

    You Have:

    • 5+ years as a DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer or Platform Engineer 
    • 10+ years of total experience supporting technical environments within Engineering domains
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or relevant years of work experience
    • Experience with service-oriented architectures and microservices at scale
    • Strong proficiency with Public Cloud providers (AWS, GCP)

    Many of Cloudflare’s critical internal services run on Kubernetes. These services include those responsible for Cloudflare’s control plane and APIs, data analytics and other internal tools used to manage our global network. These Kubernetes platforms are purpose-built from the ground up and run on bare metal Linux in different regions around the world.     As an engineer on the Kubernetes platform team, you'll be building the tools to help engineers deploy and operate the services that make Cloudflare work. Our mission is to provide a reliable, yet flexible, platform to help product teams release new software efficiently and safely. The role includes both software engineering and DevOps operational responsibilities. 

    What You'll Do

    • Improve Kubernetes, Ceph and Prometheus automation, configuration management and other tooling 
    • Design scalable and resilient systems that can keep up with company growth
    • Improve the efficiency of managing resources such as CPU, bandwidth and storage
    • Harden the platform against security threats and resource contention issues
    • Improve our GitOps systems and practices
    • Work with app teams to understand their potential challenges and help them choose the best way to architect their systems on Kubernetes
    • Contribute back to the open source community

    What You'll Need

    • Experience managing production Kubernetes or similar orchestration platforms
    • Recent experience with configuration management frameworks such as SaltStack or Ansible
    • Knowledge of how container runtimes work inside of Linux (isolation, storage, and networking)
    • Ability to work with codebases in Bash, TypeScript and Go
    • A firm grasp of IP networking including routing and iptables
    • Excellent debugging skills in a Linux environment
    • Source control experience including branching, merging and rebasing
    • The ability to break down complex problems into smaller pieces, provide options, talk through trade-offs and drive the effort to solve the problem

    Bonus Points

    • Experience operating Kubernetes on-premise at scale in capacities including SRE, systems design or architecture

    We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to help build and maintain the infrastructure powering our ecommerce platform. We believe that moving fast is our competitive advantage; that moving fast enables us to better serve our users so we build fully automated CI/CD pipelines for all of our applications.     You Will:

    • Actively seek and identify opportunities to improve the availability and performance of the system by applying the learnings from monitoring and observation.
    • Independently lead key projects in support of business and technology strategy.
