Position: Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Responsibilities include:

iRhythm Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to provide services for Engineers and SQA to build, provision, deploy and manage their application stacks in AWS and other Cloud Platforms. Write, build and deploy services globally and at scale. Write tools to automate the entire development lifecycle. Work with toolsets including AWS API, Java, Go, configuration management tools and more. Drive standards, tooling and services that is used by internal teams for all aspects of running an application. Work closely with Developers, QA and Operations staff to design and build automated processes for application and database migration, ensuring scalability, reproducibility, auditability and traceability. Provide automation and support throughout the processes required to get a product built and released into test and production environment. Troubleshoot build and deploy issues, and facilitate resolution. Maintain and enhance the automated continuous integration and continuous delivery environment. Evaluate and recommend new tools to improve build and release processes, with a goal of zero downtime releases. Communicate status frequently to all stakeholders. Document any new or changed processes. Telecommuting permitted. 20% domestic and 20% international travel required.

 

SALARY:  $155,958 to $166,200 per year.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Communications Engineering, Computer Sciences, or a related field, and 4 years of networking and devops experience. Must have experience with: AWS or Azure; Linux system administration skills such as OS deployments, patching and management; Configuration management tools such as Terraform; Container management technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes for automated deployments; Networking concepts and protocols including 5G networks, DNS, TCP/IP, IPSEC SSL VPN and firewalls; and Incident, Change and Operations Management. Telecommuting permitted. 20% domestic and 20% international travel required.

About the department

Cloudflare’s Billing Engineering team builds and maintains all the internal/external billing services related to customer onboarding, subscription management, payments, provisioning, usage processing/analytics and back office integrations with financial systems. This is a vital team central to every product launch, campaign or initiative Cloudflare undertakes. What you'll do

We are looking for an engineer to join our Billing Team; an energetic team focused engineer who is growth mindset oriented, able to drive their work from inception, requirements definition, technical specification phase, development, testing and go live.

You will work on a range of transactional microservices written in Go. You will be involved in helping to maintain our operational excellence by triaging, solving various inbound tickets related to issues across services billing maintains. As you grow within the team you will be given opportunities to own bigger initiatives and lead projects from start to finish solo or as part of a smaller team.

Our tech stack is a modern container-based microservice architecture. Technologies we use include Docker, Go (golang), PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, Kubernetes, Temporal and the usual Unix/Linux tools and workflows. We strive to build reliable, fault tolerant systems that can operate at Cloudflare’s scale.

Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience

  • BS+ in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years professional experience as a developer/engineer

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Detailed architecture design document.
  • Fully functional web application dashboard with frontend and backend components (The tools should also be standalone to ensure they can be adopted by national partners).
  • Comprehensive presentation of historical to current climate hazards and their impact from the continental to sub-national level.

The Prisma Cloud Solutions Architect role is a technical role that directly supports sales delivery of quota. You will be measured by your expertise and your ability to lead to customer successes. Your Impact

  • Present and position the Prisma Cloud platform’s benefits and unique differentiators to customers at all levels in the customer including engineering team members whether they be in the security team, DevOps, application developers, cloud infrastructure owners or the Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) team or the CISO, CTO or CIO 
  • Lead conversations about industry trends and emerging changes to the security landscape in respect to cloud native deployments
  • Discuss, with credibility, competitive offers in the marketplace and position ours as the best alternative
  • Lead and support customer demonstrations that showcase our unique value ultimately proving value as early as possible in the sales lifecycle
  • Help customers adopt the Prisma Cloud platform, a cloud security offering from Palo Alto Networks
  • Be the technical voice of sales for all things related to security and compliance in cloud native applications deployment on premises or in the Public Cloud (Alicloud, AWS, Azure, Oracle and GCP)
  • Be an evangelist and importantly a Trusted Advisor to customers helping them to further bring Security, DevOps, and SecOps together (DevSecOps)
  • Write code/scripts as needed or be able to learn if you don’t
  • Run Proof-of-Value (POVs) to ensure the customers’ requirements are met in alignment with their vision of success and exceeded where possible thanks to Prisma Cloud’s Cloud-Native Security Platform

  • Provide design consultation and standard methodology mentorship for rollout, implementation, and policy conversion during the pre-sales process for strategic opportunities
  • Assist the Channel Systems Engineers with partner enablement and lead generation activities
  • Help develop relationships with Born-in-Cloud (BiC) partners who will are essential when working with our transformative customers
  • Work with Prisma Cloud Technical Sales Managers to build strategic technical short term & long term plans for their target identified accounts
  • Develop methods to acquire new customers and nurture existing customers expanding and transforming with Prisma Cloud

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • 3+ years experience in a customer facing role in solution architecture or pre-sales
  • Proven hands-on experience of public cloud, containers (Kubernetes preferred), DevOps 
  • Demonstrable experience in securing applications deployed using cloud native compute and deployment services - Helping customers achieve industry and regulatory compliance in addition to some experience of implementing standards such as the NIST 800-190, CIS Benchmarks for Kubernetes, Docker and Linux - CIS benchmarks for AWS, Azure, GCP including GKE are also desired as well as NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, NIST CSF and SOC
  • Experience of building or at least modifying container orchestrator YAML deployments
  • Experience of working with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) solutions such as Terraform, CloudFormation or ARM templates is desirable
  • Experience of working with customers, demonstrating strong communication and problem solving skills
