Role Overview

As an Automation & AI Agents Intern, you'll dive deep into developing cutting-edge automations, AI-driven agents, and leveraging the latest in Large Language Models (LLMs) and tools like Zapier. You'll be working closely with our engineering and product teams to create processes that optimize, streamline, and scale our operations using advanced automation techniques and AI-driven agents. You'll have opportunities to lead projects, gain mentorship from experienced engineers, and make a significant impact.

Skills & Experience We’re Looking For

  • Current enrollment or completion of a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent skills)
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, JavaScript, or similar
  • Familiarity with automation frameworks, RPA (Robotic Process Automation) tools, and workflow automation tools like Zapier
  • Experience or interest in working with APIs, web scraping, developing custom bots, and integrating LLMs like GPT-¾, Claude

You Will

  • Assist in developing, testing, and implementing automation workflows and AI-based agents to streamline operations

  • Build and enhance AI-driven agents using Large Language Models (LLMs) to deliver value across different projects
  • Identify manual processes that can be automated, prioritize those with the highest impact, and create solutions to tackle them
  • Develop proof-of-concepts for integrating advanced AI into our product ecosystem, exploring the use of conversational AI agents to improve user engagement

  • Lead and support customer demonstrations that showcase our unique value ultimately proving value as early as possible in the sales lifecycle
  • Help customers adopt the Prisma Cloud platform, a cloud security offering from Palo Alto Networks
  • Be the technical voice of sales for all things related to security and compliance in cloud native applications deployment on premises or in the Public Cloud (Alicloud, AWS, Azure, Oracle and GCP)
  • Be an evangelist and importantly a Trusted Advisor to customers helping them to further bring Security, DevOps, and SecOps together (DevSecOps)
  • Write code/scripts as needed or be able to learn if you don’t
  • Run Proof-of-Value (POVs) to ensure the customers’ requirements are met in alignment with their vision of success and exceeded where possible thanks to Prisma Cloud’s Cloud-Native Security Platform

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • 3+ years experience in a customer facing role in solution architecture or pre-sales
  • Proven hands-on experience of public cloud, containers (Kubernetes preferred), DevOps 
  • Demonstrable experience in securing applications deployed using cloud native compute and deployment services - Helping customers achieve industry and regulatory compliance in addition to some experience of implementing standards such as the NIST 800-190, CIS Benchmarks for Kubernetes, Docker and Linux - CIS benchmarks for AWS, Azure, GCP including GKE are also desired as well as NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, NIST CSF and SOC
  • Experience of building or at least modifying container orchestrator YAML deployments

Ripjar specialises in the development of software and data products that help governments and organisations combat serious financial crime. Our technology is used to identify criminal activity such as money laundering and terrorist financing and enables organisations to enforce sanctions at scale to help combat rogue entities and state actors.

Team Mission:

The core infrastructure team at Ripjar is responsible for commissioning and maintaining the underlying IT infrastructure that supports the company's data analytics and intelligence solutions. These systems are provisioned in a hybrid public/private cloud environment and include the underlying clusters used for large scale analytics as well as internal tooling and customer facing SaaS service. 

Position Overview:

The DevOps Team Lead will oversee the day-to-day management of the core-infrastructure team (currently 5 headcount), ensuring the efficient provisioning, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our mixed public and private cloud environment. This role requires a strategic mindset to design and implement infrastructure improvements while managing performance, capacity, and cost. The role holder will collaborate closely with Product, Delivery, Engineering, and Security to align infrastructure capabilities with business needs alongside regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership

  • Coordination: Oversee the day-to-day activities of the operations team, ensuring that processes run smoothly and efficiently. This includes assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Technical Oversight: Design and implement improvements to existing infrastructure as well as new services. Evaluate the benefits of third-party managed solutions vs internal provision. 
  • Performance Management: Assess and improve the performance of core-infrastructure team members, fostering a culture of continuous development.

Operations Management

  • Process Management: Establish and optimise processes that enable the team to independently handle routine tasks.
  • Jira Service Desk: Operate an internal facing service desk ensuring triage and timely ticket management as well as evolving ticket types to streamline support requests.
  • Out-of-Hours Support: Coordinate out-of-hours support activities, ensuring a collective knowledge base for non-trivial SaaS support issues.
  • Incident Response: Manage and contribute to incident response efforts for infrastructure-related issues, ensuring timely resolutions.

Capacity & Cost Management

  • Capacity Planning: Conduct infrastructure capacity planning, utilising metrics to inform decisions and ensure readiness for business scaling.
  • Cost Tracking & Optimization: Monitor and optimise costs associated with infrastructure and services, ensuring alignment with budgetary goals. 

Compliance & Audits

  • Compliance: Manage and contribute to recurring annual compliance activities, including ISO27001 and SOC2 audits, in collaboration with the respective audit teams and third-party advisors.
  • Security: Ensure security best practice including identifying potential threats and vulnerabilities, designing secure software systems, and implementing robust security measures.
  • Disaster Recovery Testing: Participate in disaster recovery testing, ensuring robust recovery processes are in place.

In addition to the above the role holder should remain technically proficient such that they can contribute to the daily activities of the team including provisioning, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our core services.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years in operations management, particularly within a platform / core infrastructure team (or equivalent).
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in managing hybrid cloud environments (both public and private) and familiarity with relevant technologies and platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Our production workloads are currently hosted in AWS. 
  • Proficiency in infrastructure provisioning, systems administration and monitoring tools. We use Terraform, Ansible, k8s and Datadog to manage a range of RHEL/Rocky 9 hosts. Our analytics clusters make use of Spark, HBASE and HDFS. 
  • Experience in designing and implementing scalable infrastructure solutions, ideally with some exposure to parallel processing environments used for large-scale analytics.
  • An appreciation of security best practice in areas such as network security, threat modelling, vulnerability assessment, IAM, SIEM and incident response. 
  • Skills in system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting infrastructure and micro-service-based architectures.
  • Understanding of compliance frameworks like ISO 27001 and SOC 2, and experience in managing audits and compliance activities.
  • Familiarity with incident response processes and tools, ensuring timely resolution of issues.

About the Role

  • Managing development life cycle using various source code management tools.
  • Ability to perform performance tuning and optimisation on new and/or existing data warehouse solutions.
  • Provide detailed documentation, end user training and knowledge-transfer services to customers, and internal teams.
  • Mentor developers, acting as an SME in data warehouse architecture and data modelling

Para irte introduciendo a nuestra organización, no hacemos distinciones en roles sino en competencias. En este caso, las competencias más valorables serían enfocadas a las de DevOps, pero no significa que no vayas a ejecutar otras tareas relacionadas con la infraestructura.

¿Qué harás?

  • Diseñar e implementar infraestructura en Azure: topologías y servicios de redes. Servicios IaaS y relacionados. Implementar y configurar servicios PaaS.

As a Software Engineer, Infra you will be a key player in building and enhancing the reliability and observability of our services across the engineering organization. You will be part of a centralized team focused on improving incident management, introducing auto-scaling and resilience mechanisms, conducting chaos testing, and self-healing. Your work will be instrumental in establishing a center of excellence for reliability, establishing and evangelizing best practices, and developing tools to scale these practices across all engineering teams.

In this role, you will:

  • Use modern infrastructure management tools and services like AWS to build a massively scalable platform for Grammarly’s services.
  • Be an ambassador for Operational Excellence - building and continually improving incident management tooling and processes.
  • Implement proactive reliability improvements to reduce manual intervention and increase reliability. This includes automated deployment improvements, canary analysis, self-healing mechanisms, and autoscaling.
  • Manage cloud-native infrastructure solutions, such as cross-service infrastructure, Kubernetes clusters and deployments, auto-scaling tool sets, and service discovery.
  • Build solutions and frameworks to spin up, test, deploy, and observe Grammarly’s service reliability.
  • Participate in on-call incident response and escalation procedures.

Qualifications

  • Has a minimum of 7 years of experience managing live production SaaS environments with high load.
  • Is experienced in working on a centralized reliability or SRE team configuration.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-native infrastructure solutions such as container orchestration and service discovery in Kubernetes-based environments.
  • Background in software development or engineering roles with a focus on reliability.
  • Is knowledgeable on all things Reliability and how to scale those solutions across the engineering organization.
  • Is knowledgeable of AWS —or has deep expertise in Azure or GCP and is willing to learn AWS quickly.

  • Lead the design, development, and management of scalable server infrastructure tools, with a focus on OS build and deployment automation and high system availability.
  • Develop, support and fine-tune Red Hat Linux systems, addressing aspects like security (SELinux), performance optimization, and patch management through automation tools such as Puppet and Ansible.
  • Develop and sustain a software-defined, declarative infrastructure environment using Python, Puppet/Ansible, and Red Hat Linux (RHEL).
  • Engineer and implement automation solutions targeting Linux-based systems, primarily through Puppet and Ansible.
  • Spearhead automation-centric, large-scale infrastructure projects from ideation to deployment.
  • Utilize ServiceNow platform capabilities for advanced orchestration workflows.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams including project management, network engineering, security, and database administration to deliver holistic solutions.
  • Demonstrate an aptitude for independent problem-solving. While you'll have a collaborative team and resources at your disposal, your role will require proactive research and innovative troubleshooting.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:

  • In-depth expertise in Python, Puppet/Ansible, and Red Hat Linux (RHEL).
  • Proficiency in virtualization and containerization technologies, such as VMware, AWS, Azure, and Kubernetes.
  • Demonstrated skills in configuration management and automation, particularly in Puppet/Ansible and Python.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Linux operating systems and associated toolsets.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols including DNS, LDAP, NTP, and SMTP.
  • Experience in using Source Control Management tools like Git, Gerrit, or GitLab.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, complemented by a strong ability for autonomous work.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field or relevant years of experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in Linux System Administration, including both software and hardware aspects.
  • A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with automation tools like Puppet or Ansible.
  • Strong scripting skills, specifically in Bash and Python.
  • Knowledge of Agile Project Management frameworks.
  • Experience working in a 24x7 operational setting with on-call support rotation.

For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $137,000 - $233,000, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs. Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located and is subject to change based on work location.
