Job Summary:

We are seeking a Cloud Systems Engineer to design and implement an automated solution for Redbook maintenance and website updates. The ideal candidate will leverage cloud technologies to ensure security, quality, and efficiency in document management and web content delivery. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to automate processes, enhance user experiences, and integrate dynamic frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Automate Document Management:
    • Facilitate the use of Word 365 for document updates via OneDrive and SharePoint.
    • Develop and maintain Azure Logic Apps to automate workflows triggered by document updates.
  • Data Processing and Conversion:
    • Utilize Python, Pandas, and LaTeX to consolidate and convert Redbook Chapter files into PDF, XML, JSON, and Markdown formats.
    • Ensure seamless importing/exporting to and from Word while preserving formatting.
  • Static Content Generation:
    • Implement HUGO or similar static site generators to create modern website content from machine-readable formats.
    • Tailor the static site to enhance user experience, integrating frameworks like React and D3 for interactivity and data visualization.
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD):
    • Set up CI/CD pipelines for quality assurance, automated testing, vulnerability scans, and deployment to QA/Test or production environments.
    • Host static web content using Azure CDN and Azure Blob Storage.
  • Database Management (Optional):
    • Design and implement databases for storing structured and semi-structured data for efficient search and retrieval.
  • API Development (Optional):
    • Create machine-to-machine APIs for real-time data dissemination and reporting from the Redbook.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience in cloud technologies, particularly Azure services.
    • Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in data processing libraries like Pandas.
    • Familiarity with document management tools such as Word 365, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Experience with static site generators (e.g., HUGO) and web frameworks (e.g., React, D3).
    • Knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools.
    • Understanding of security best practices in cloud environments.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with LaTeX for document processing.
  • Knowledge of machine-readable formats (XML, JSON, Markdown) and their applications.
  • Familiarity with database management systems and API development.

Location:

  • Remote candidates will be considered but the ideal candidate will be local to the DMV area and be open to being on site 2-3 times per week in Annapolis, MD.

Salary Range:

  • $75,000 - 90,000 depending on factors such as experience level, locality pay and the remote/hybrid/on-site schedule

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a backend engineering role designing, building, and operating modern distributed systems, using modern programming languages like C#, Golang, Java or Scala. 
  • Extensive experience working with cloud-based applications, containerization and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • System architecture design experience and understanding; space/time complexity, API contract design.

How will I contribute?

The Dynamics 365 System Administrator (F&O) will be the Subject Matter Expert for the MS Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations Cloud Platform.   • Participate in the delivery of ERP application upgrades and enhancements with the help of Technical Project Management, Organizational Change Management and Process Operations Excellence staff through analysis, design, configuration, testing, training, and deployment activities necessary to deliver superior quality ERP and customer data solutions
  • Prioritizes and negotiates scope for release management
  • Works with SMEs to ensure proper workflow and training documentation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Bachelor's of Arts degree in Business Systems, Computer Science or other relevant program
  • Dynamics 365 F&O ERP experience as administrator and/or developer
  • Understanding of Dynamics 365 Solution Components and Platform Extension
  • Experience in Azure DevOps configuration and management for SAAS ( for D365) as well PAAS (for Azure Functions, Azure Logic App etc) based work loads
  • Cloud monitoring; experience with Azure Log Analytics, Azure Monitor, SysDig, and Application Insights
  • Experience with Azure CLI, PowerShell and ARM templates
  • Exposure to Microsoft's power platform with CDS/Dataverse
  • Experience and/or sound understanding of Agile / Scrum process
  • Requires superior teamwork skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must; ability to read, write, and speak in a professional manner
  • Excellent analytical, and critical thinking skills

What you’ll do when you join us:

Assess and develop enterprise-wide data management strategy and architecture

  • Assess needs and opportunities for CFC data integration and uses
  • Develop data models and concepts to move the business and organization forward
  • Architect the flow and use of data between systems across CFC

Lead and support data architecture implementation

  • Design and monitor data flows to/from CFC systems to improve processes, client experience, and program effectiveness
  • Create large-scale data integration, transformation, and storage to enable effective enterprise-wide reporting and analytics
  • Develop technology and design patterns for long-term sustainability of data solutions
  • Ensure quality and availability of data for key business needs
  • Unblock engineers, system administrators, and business partners facing tough data related challenges

Work with various experts to ensure the security, privacy, and compliance of our data systems

  • Identify and manage risks around organization data
  • Develop policies, guidelines, and procedures for effective data governance
  • Represent data security, privacy, and compliance in organization decision making

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience developing data solutions including at least:
    • 7 years of experience with relational database technologies including SQL development and administration
    • 5 years of experience with No-SQL technologies such as key-value stores and document stores
    • 5 years of experience with data cleansing, integration, and transformation technologies
    • 5 years of experience with data warehousing/data lake technologies
  • Experience in data privacy, security, and compliance with a strong grasp of cloud-based technologies (Azure preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in the following competencies: project management, collaboration and data architecture.
  • Advanced communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strategic and tactical flexibility, with a proven ability to adapt to different levels of project complexity
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose issues and develop innovative solutions
  • Ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly, document solutions effectively, and work under time constraints
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional periods of high volume
  • Preferred but not required:
    • Experience in EdTech, digital sales and renewals, or ERP/CRM systems (NetSuite preferred)
