Role Summary:
The Senior Ruby on Rails Developer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code, supporting our web applications. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, implementing robust and scalable features, and ensuring seamless integration of front-end and back-end elements. The ideal candidate has at least five years of Ruby on Rails experience and is passionate about clean, maintainable code.

Timing
: 8 am to 5 pm PST

Key Responsibilities:

  • Feature Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure application features within Ruby on Rails.
  • Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, ensuring adherence to best practices and code standards.
  • Lifecycle Involvement: Participate in all phases of the development lifecycle, from planning and design to testing and deployment.
  • Best Practices: Embrace test-driven development (TDD), continuous integration (CI), SCRUM, refactoring, and code standards.
  • Innovation: Stay updated with relevant new technologies and advocate for their integration where appropriate.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Ruby on Rails development.
  • Strong proficiency in front-end technologies, including JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JQuery, and ReactJS.
  • Proven experience in developing highly interactive, user-friendly applications.
  • Expertise with both relational and NoSQL databases.

What you’ll do:

  • Proficiency in programming languages including Python and C# is required. Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills are also necessary. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks (using PySpark) and Azure SQL Database.

We’re looking for a Production Systems Developer to work with us to design bespoke hardware test software to support the mass production of state-of-the-art audio interfaces, MIDI controllers and synthesisers.  

The Role:

You will be working in a people-focused, multi-functional design & engineering team, collaborating on new product development and the continuous improvement of the production test software used in our factories. Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining production test software, writing backend functionality in Python and developing unit and end-to-end tests while also contributing to research and development and providing remote technical support to factory engineers.

Project work is typically managed in a combination of stage gated and agile methodologies to suite the technical discipline and project complexity. Focusrite is committed to improving and you will have opportunity to help evolve our working practices to keep up to date with technology trends in our product sector and best practice in the software development industry.

To be successful in your application for this role you will need:

  • Competent coding skill in Python and/or TypeScript/React  
  • A good understanding of audio electronics, measurement tools and methods

  • Excellent design, debugging and problem-solving abilities
  • The ability to clearly articulate problems and solutions for both technical and non-technical audiences

Your Department

We run Open Telekom Cloud, a public cloud standard product based on open source community software and driven by principles of DevOps and with SRE in mind. This also includes DevSecOps and GitOps approaches. We have Software Developers, backend experts, fullstack engineers, SREs, and other roles working hand-in-hand. Lean structures, agile methods, highly motivated teams and an extremely dynamic business environment determine our actions. With this customer-oriented and agile orientation, we are the anchor point for the Public Cloud business in Deutsche Telekom Group.

Your Tasks                                                                                                                        

As a "Developer Public Cloud" you understand the latest developments in cloud and container technology. Customer-oriented, you will develop new products and automation solutions for the Open Telekom Cloud.

  • Linux distros: Ubuntu/eulerOS/redhat
  • Experience with PostgreSQL Development and Management in a cloud environment
  • Kubernetes 
  • Good communication skills with a distributed team across Europe in English
  • REST-API Development
  • Expert in ETL design and development
  • Data Modeling in RDBMS/NoSQL
  • Experienced in designing system architecture

  • Strong experience in Linux, Protocols and High Availability.
  • Basic knowledge of software defined networks, routing, firewalls and physical networks.
  • Experience in infrastructure automation.
  • OpenStack and programming experience in open source projects is a plus.
  • Knowledge of agile development processes (Scrum, Kanban).
  • High level of customer focus.
  • Ability to assess technical solutions and come up with creative approaches.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

You will be working in the European Union to meet our customers' data security and privacy requirements.
