This is an engagement through Upwork’s Hybrid Workforce Solutions (HWS) Team. Our Hybrid Workforce Solutions Team is a global group of professionals that support Upwork’s business. Our HWS team members are located all over the world.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect, build, maintain and improve search systems and AI/ML services that scale with the growing demands of our applications and state of the art search capabilities 
  • Collaborate with frontend and backend teams to design and implement API that align with business requirements and optimize backend processes to enable low-latency and high-reliability retrieval and ranking needs
  • Conduct thorough code reviews and drive enhancements to boost API performance and functionality.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for our services ensuring transparency and knowledge sharing with the team.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in software development and AI and evaluate their potential impact on our projects.

  • Strong Industry experience with large scale production grade systems as a software engineer and Indexing experience with Elasticsearch, OpenSearch or Apache Solr

  • Solid understanding of API Design Principles and CI/CD 
  • Exposure to machine learning concepts and workflows with an understanding of how services support machine learning models
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and globally distributed teams and adapt to evolving project requirements.

We are looking for a Vice President of Design to lead and shape the future of the product experience at Upwork. Responsibilities

What it takes to catch our eye

  • 15+ years of experience in product and UX design, with at least 7 years in a leadership role, ideally at the executive level.
  • Expertise in designing for emerging technologies, including conversational UX, voice interfaces, multi-modal experiences, and AI-driven systems.
  • Strong understanding of human-computer interaction models, particularly in voice and video interfaces.
  • Experience working on products that span multiple interaction modes (visual, voice, touch (mobile), video).

The Role:

You will be working in a people-focused, multi-functional design & engineering team, collaborating on new product development and the continuous improvement of the production test software used in our factories. To be successful in your application for this role you will need:

Compensation range

An overview of this role

You'll be at the forefront of our R&D efforts within our Engineering department in this role. Vulnerability Research Engineers perform research to analyze software vulnerabilities, exploitation methods, track new vectors, discover novel methods and approaches in software security, and apply this knowledge to the security products and GitLab itself. 

What You’ll Do  

  • Carry out research and come up with proofs of concepts that affect the security products and GitLab, including SAST, DAST, Secret Detection and Composition Analysis.
  • Curate advisory databases for dependency scanning. This is a semi-automatic task that includes auditing/reviewing, editing existing and adding new advisories to the database while, at the same time, trying to automate repetitive tasks away as much as possible.
  • Build/develop benchmarks to test the efficacy of scanning and detection products to constantly improve quality of results.
  • Measure and Improve the efficacy of scanning and detection products over time.

  • Assess security product output results and conduct root cause analysis to improve efficacy.
  • Respond to internal and external customer inquiries on vulnerabilities and related topics.

What You’ll Bring 

  • 3+ years of direct experience in developing and improving vulnerability detection products in the context of web security.
  • Knowledge of the vulnerability management process.
  • Knowledge of software composition analysis (SCA) and software supply chain ecosystems.

Responsibilities:

  • Conceive, assemble, and deliver the financial platform that meets the OTC team’s functional and business requirements for our global broker/dealer platform
  • Build out our global liquidity network at scale across the key financial centers world wide
  • Cultivate best practices and collaborate with engineering teams structuring applications
  • Realize and promote the domain model and architecture for our broker/dealer platform
  • Leverage key software systems and services from across Gemini’s portfolio of exchange, settlement, and custodian technologies

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with C++ and Python on Linux

Responsibilities:

  • Conceive, assemble, and deliver the financial platform that meets the OTC team’s functional and non-functional requirements for our global broker/dealer platform
  • Build out our global liquidity network at scale across the key financial centers world wide
  • Cultivate best practices and collaborate with engineering teams structuring applications
  • Realize and promote the domain model and architecture for our broker/dealer platform
  • Leverage key software systems and services from across Gemini’s portfolio of exchange, settlement, and custodian technologies

Minimum Qualifications:

  •  Proficiency with Golang and Typescript (React)
  • At least 6 years experience in in full-stack development, with a strong focus on design, development, and delivery of scalable, distributed systems
  • Experience building microservices deployed on AWS and Kubernetes
  • Track record of working with a distributed design and development effort
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills with solid organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Engaging communicator with a knack for precision and conciseness
  • Independent decision maker able to act decisively based on your domain expertise
  • Understanding of communication protocols, specifically FIX, Websocket, REST and GraphQL

The Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain long-term forecasting models for all our markets
  • Create staffing forecasts and schedules for the L1 team on a monthly basis
  • Optimize and deliver monthly schedules to operations teams
  • Lead capacity planning to ensure resources align with demand fluctuations
  • Perform advanced data analysis using Tableau and Snowflake to support forecasting and capacity planning
  • Generate dashboards and reports in Tableau to visualize key Workforce Management metrics and trends

  • Participate in projects focused on the development and optimization of WFM processes

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a Workforce Management (WFM) role
  • Hands-on experience with all WFM processes: budgeting, forecasting, capacity planning, scheduling, real-time management, and performance analysis
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools, particularly Tableau for data visualization and Snowflake for managing large datasets
  • Experience working in mid-to-large size Customer Care Team (50 to 100 agents)

About the Role:

Your work will be critical in the analytical and clinical validation of in-vitro diagnostic products and subsequent regulatory approval as companion diagnostics (CDx) for new therapeutics in the US and internationally. This work allows Guardant Health and its partner pharmaceutical companies to ensure that patients can find a life extending therapy that best matches their cancer.

As a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist in the follow-on CDx team, you will work as part of a cross-functional team with the Biostatistics, Regulatory, Technology Development, Medical Affairs, Business Development, and Marketing teams.  A successful candidate in this position will be able to provide bioinformatics support as a subject matter expert on next-generation sequencing (NGS) oncology diagnostic assays to help design and execute experiments in support of US and international regulatory submissions. This will require individual contributions to experimental and protocol design, statistical analysis of genomic data, and development of novel methods for determining quality and accuracy of cutting-edge oncology tests. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Technology Development team to troubleshoot and analyze verification and validation experiments as part of FDA submissions (IDE, sPMA and PMA) and international submission.
  • Design and develop software tools to automate analytical procedures.
  • Develop or apply statistical methods and procedures to describe and validate Guardant Health technologies.
  • Write and design experimental protocols and reports in collaboration with the technology development group.
  • Propose and present detailed designs and concise, well-written reports to cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct feasibility analyses, including simulations drawing from a rich database of historical test results and evaluation of external technologies.
  • Leverage cutting edge AI methods to streamline analytical workflows and continuously improve submission efficiency and efficacy.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to less senior team members.

Qualifications

  • PhD/Master level with 3+/5+ years related industry experience.
  • Experience with experimental design and associated statistical analysis (e.g., hypothesis testing, regression, hierarchical models, equivalence / non-inferiority)
  • Experience with interacting with medical diagnostic regulatory bodies (e.g. FDA, PMDA, EMA).
  • Experience with Python programing and Python data analysis libraries and tools (i.e. numpy, scipy, pandas , ipython notebooks, etc.).
  • Ability to develop analyses, models, reproducible code, and reports with Python
  • Familiarity with data science software development practices
  • Familiarity with genomic diagnostics

About the Role:
