Job Description

Position Overview: As a Software Application Architect of our Ascend Fraud team, you will design and oversee the development of distributed applications focused on fraud detection. In this individual contributor hybrid role, you will report into the Sr. Director of Software Development. You will work with teams to ensure that architectural decisions align with our goals, while also remaining hands-on with coding tasks. You will have experience working in agile environments, familiarity with DevSecOps practices, and experience building secure and efficient solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Define the Architecture for Ascend Fraud services on the Ascend Platform: design and evolve the system structure, choose the appropriate technologies, frameworks, and design patterns to meet functional requirements
  • Guide the implementation of technical solutions while considering service re-usability and consolidation through the use of machine learning.
  • Work with product management, platform architects, developers, and other technical teams
  • Provide guidance to development teams, ensuring that architectural principles are followed and that the design is implemented correctly.
  • Implement DevSecOps practices, integrating security measures into the entire software development lifecycle.
  • Select tech stacks, tools and platforms to ensure these decisions align with the project's goals
  • Design cloud-native architectures on AWS and container orchestration platforms like Amazon EKS.
  • Oversee the design and integration of SQL and NoSQL database technologies
  • Find and address risks related to system performance, security, scalability, and technical debt
  • Spend up to 30% of your time writing high-quality code
  • Work in an agile environment, ensuring agreement on requirements

Qualifications

  • You must be located near Scottsdale, Arizonadue to the hybrid nature of this role
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years experience in full stack software development (2+ being in an architecture role) (React.JS, JavaScript UI frameworks, Java, microservices).
  • Expertise in Microservices Architecture including service orchestration, communication patterns, and data storage
  • Proficient in SQL and NoSQL database technologies
  • Familiarity with fraud detection algorithms, anomaly detection, ML models with a focus on security and scalability
  • Proficiency in (AWS) Cloud Services such as EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS, and DynamoDB
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and security integration

Whatyou’lldo: 

  • You'll analyze complex datasets to assess performance or find new patterns

- You have at least ten (10) years of proven expertise in Relational and Dimensional Data Modeling.

- You are able to define & maintain BI/Data Warehouse methodologies, standards, and industry best practices.

About the Job

Come join us as we build the next evolution of our backend services to handle our ever growing user base. You will be working alongside our Architecture and Product teams to move fast as we expand the business.

Together, we will build systems that are strong and reliable to uphold a heavy load, yet malleable to fit many product demands. Come lead coordinated efforts alongside mobile and web engineers designing and developing Cloud code in Java.

The US-based salary range for this position is $135,000 to $185,000. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary - therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. What You’ll Do

  • Create new API gateways to enable external integration (eg.Tile and JioBit)
  • Horizontally scale our system to handle another 10+ billion events per day
  • Monitor health, suggest improvements for and deploy your own services
  • Example: Build the next generation of our event streaming architecture to handle billions of events per day storing up to trillions of events in cold storage

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar quantitative field or the equivalent industry experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of the HireVue platforms ensuring that we’re utilizing the best development techniques, architectural patterns, frameworks and libraries for those initiatives

  • Own and ensure the resolution of complex problems found in our systems and integrations

  • Find opportunities to broadcast knowledge and lessons learned across delivery teams

  • Delegate to teammates and work with them to ensure they're successful

Qualifications

We’re looking for an experienced, full-stack engineer. More specifically, we’re looking for:

  • Someone with experience designing, building, deploying, supporting SaaS products. You should have familiarity with cloud development, Test Driven Development (TDD), RESTFul APIs, XSS attacks, and MVC web frameworks. 

  • Someone who understands fundamental computer science concepts. That doesn’t necessarily mean you have a CS degree. You should be able to describe technical design options, engineering trade offs, making technical recommendations and decisions. 

  • Someone with a firm grasp of SQL and databases in general (including non-relational databases). You should know how to do CRUD operations, what indexes are and why they matter, and the difference between a left join and an inner join for instance.

  • Someone to work hand in hand with Product and UX, to design solutions that deliver business value and delight customers. 

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Computer Science (or related field), equivalent trade school degree, or equivalent work experience

  • 8+ years in a software engineering role, 12+ years preferred

  • Highly proficient with languages and technologies listed below

  • Experience with dialogue systems, machine learning systems, multi-agent LLM architectures, and  AI natural language processing (NLP)

Sigma Software is hiring a Remote Senior Data Engineer (Scala)

Job Description

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines to ingest and transform large volumes of data from various sources 
  • Optimize streaming and batch data processing and storage solutions for performance and scalability 
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and reliability 
  • Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs 
  • Communicate technical concepts and solutions effectively to non-technical stakeholders 
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering. Identify opportunities to improve data processes, tools, and infrastructure to enhance efficiency and effectiveness 
  • Document data pipelines, processes, and systems to ensure clarity and maintainability 
  • Share knowledge and best practices with team members to foster a culture of learning and collaboration 
  • Work with and mentor junior Data Engineers 
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in the Software Development field and/or Big Data 
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in building and operating large-scale data processing system 
  • Solid programming skills, fluent with Scala 
  • Familiar with big data processing Framework/tools Spark, Spark Streaming, Databricks, Flink 
  • Experiences with Data Lakehouse technics Delta Lake and Iceberg 
  • Solid SQL skills with experience in writing complex queries, stored procedures, and optimizing querying performance 
  • Experiences with data warehouse, data modeling techniques, ETL processes, and relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) 
  • Familiarity with AWS (EC2, S3, etc.), and proficiency in managing cloud-based data solutions (Snowflake) 
  • Upper-Intermediate level of English
