We are seeking an editorial-minded, data-driven journalist to analyze quantitative research and craft compelling narratives around our core treatment categories (sex, hair and weight loss) geared toward media syndication. As a Data Journalist, you'll be responsible for generating innovative story ideas, conducting in-depth analysis of numerical data, and creating attention-grabbing headlines with localized appeal tailor-made for organic media pickup.

You Will:

  • Develop 1-2 unique data-driven whitepapers each month, meticulously researched and crafted to capture the attention of media outlets and their audiences
  • Analyze publicly available data from Census and other sources to create unique and compelling narratives (i.e. “These are the healthiest cities in America” according to our proprietary score)
  • Generate fresh and captivating story ideas centered around our core topics of sex, hair, and weight loss, ensuring relevance and appeal to our target audience
  • Dive deep into numerical and statistical data, both existing and newly collected, to unearth unique insights and trends with click-worthy appeal
  • Collaborate closely with the editorial team to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging and branding

You Have:

  • Analytical Skills: Demonstrate strong analytical skills, with the ability to apply a unique rubric to publicly available data, creating a proprietary story out of non-proprietary numbers, and the ability to craft a survey that will allow you to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets and translate them into engaging narratives

Preferred Qualifications:

This contract position will be paid per article submission, with an expectation of two to five submissions per week. Outlined below is a reasonable estimate of H&H’s compensation range for US-based candidates.

The actual amount will take into account a range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and location.

As Localization QA Game Tester, you will work within our Localization Quality Assurance team and be the very first person to see the localized game in its entirety – translated text, images and the rest of the user interface collectively. You’ll get to experience the project in the way it will be consumed by the end users. You will work in a multilingual project team ensuring that the game is free from grammatical errors, cultural inconsistencies and ultimately ensuring that the game is accurately localized into the target language.

  • Ensure adherence to console manufacturer guidelines.

  • Write reports on errors and bugs found and perform ad hoc translation.

Our Localization QA team performs language checks on a range of yet-to-be-released games for a variety of platforms including PC, Xbox One, PS5, Wii, PS Vita, DS, Switch, VR and various mobile and tablet devices. As LQA Game Tester, you would be working on top gaming titles for some of the world's leading publishers. 

Requirements 

  • Fluency in Slovak and English.
  • No experience required. We'll provide you the training and support you needed to perform the testing.
  • Strong cultural understanding of the language you are applying for. 
  • Computer literacy – particularly with Excel. 
  • Robust Internet research skills. 
  • Excellent attention to detail. 
  • Previous experience with using different software, applications, and websites. 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely and collaborate within project teams. 
  • You must be able to provide evidence of your right to work in Portugal. If you are located outside Portugal, a freelance contract will be applied.

About the role 

As Localization QA Game Tester, you will work within our Localization Quality Assurance team and be the very first person to see the localized game in its entirety – translated text, images and the rest of the user interface collectively. You’ll get to experience the project in the way it will be consumed by the end users. You will work in a multilingual project team ensuring that the game is free from grammatical errors, cultural inconsistencies and ultimately ensuring that the game is accurately localized into the target language. 

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements 

  • Fluency in Romanian and English.

IXL Learning, developer of personalized learning products used by millions of people globally, is looking for bilingual, camera-loving actors to create video tutorials. In this role, you will self-tape video footage in Spanish or English using provided scripts to teach students different educational concepts in math or language arts.#LI-REMOTE

This is a 1099 consulting role.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Using pre-written Spanish or English scripts, self-tape short instructional videos for kids and teens; most videos will be a few minutes long and will consist of an on-screen portion and a voiceover portion.
  • Shoot and act in your own videos to deliver clear, engaging, professional lessons
  • Adhere to video production guidelines and file specifications
  • Film reshoots/rerecords when necessary

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Fluency in both Spanish and English (native-level speaker in both languages is a must) 
  • Ability to record and produce high-quality video footage of yourself
  • Understanding of age-appropriate Spanish vocabulary and instructional approach is a plus
  • Engaging on-screen presence for audiences of little kids (age 5-7), big kids, and/or teens
  • Ability to film with a greenscreen is a plus
  • Clear, effective presentation style

Select candidates will be asked to complete their application by submitting a sample video using a pre-written script. Candidates with the top videos will be selected to move forward with the application process. If hired, you will be compensated with $100 or $150 (dependent on video length) upon delivery of each completed video.

You will be joining an agile organization and will be an integral member in building the wholesale business, facilitating the sales process. As the Senior Manager, Canada Field Sales & Training you will be a key Glossier leader, managing a team of Market Specialists that support Sephora locations in key territories, building relationships, educating and training store teams and driving retail sales. You will be expected to independently develop account plans and strategies and make independent decisions in answering questions and explaining how products will benefit customers. You will also collaborate on building the wholesale strategy to ensure we are achieving the Company’s overall goals. You will report to the Director of Field Sales. 

Responsibilities

Sales

  • Drive sales and achieve sales targets for Sephora Canada retail store locations.
  • Recruit, hire and develop a team of regional market specialists (freelance) and assume responsibility for sales efforts, merchandising, events, training and customer service. 
  • In addition to managing a team, this role will be responsible for direct oversight of a small number of top volume doors in the local market. 
  • Serve as the principal, ongoing Glossier representative for in-store retail teams in Canada, serving as the conduit between Sephora CAD retail and Glossier HQ, and providing excellent customer service to meet and/or exceed sales goals for all assigned doors and accounts.  
  • Responsible for all in-store sales efforts including merchandising, events, training, and customer service.  
  • Provide proactive, forward-thinking ideas to support sales efforts and brand recognition expansion.
  • Analyze business performance and respond to opportunities through education and operational adjustments.
  • Serve as brand ambassador, embodying the Glossier values and entrepreneurial spirit. 
  • Consistently demonstrate a solid understanding of sales, product knowledge, events, operations, retail market and cosmetic industry to keep business moving forward by capturing consumer insights/sales trends/traffic patterns and using learnings to influence optimization of the field operation.
  • Think creatively and strategically to ensure business growth month over month during launch year and beyond.

In-Store Retail Experience

  • Engage consumers in the brand and focus on direct selling efforts whenever possible.
  • Educate and train Glossier & Sephora teams on the entire assortment of Glossier product line, thereby increasing the Sephora Beauty Advisors’ ability to recommend Glossier products to customers and driving sales.
  • Assess and analyze Sephora Beauty Advisors incorporation of skills and techniques taught and overall sales performance.
  • Forge strong relationships with both store leadership and Sephora’s Field Support Center  to support and identify opportunities that are consistent with Glossier’s strategic direction.
  • Facilitate training, strategize, plan and execute successful events and create excitement for the brand and products.
  • Partner with retailers to develop and execute innovative in-store events and use learnings to maximize effectiveness of the market calendar long term.

Operations

  • Clearly communicate all relevant updates relating to placement, product assortment, inventory levels, resource needs, market opportunities, among other things, to help the Glossier HQ team understand the opportunities and challenges in key markets, doors, and accounts.
  • Support product development teams by sharing customer and retail feedback in real time.
  • Review retail sales and goals, stock, animation, marketing, selling techniques on a weekly basis, making any necessary adjustments and addressing any issues and opportunities.
  • Maintain responsibility for managing and tracking all budgets for the team within given parameters.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years experience working in Beauty and 3+ years in a managerial role
  • Experience working with Sephora CAD is required
  • Deep understanding of the retail market and current beauty trends
  • Self-starter, solution-minded, highly organized, detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and follow-up skills
  • Ability to efficiently manage and prioritize multiple projects 
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through is a must
  • Must have ability to think strategically, conceptualize new ideas, initiate change and react to fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to coach team on sales reporting and plan achievement 
  • Charismatic individual with strong negotiation and communication talents
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays is required
  • French speaking a plus
  • Travel up to 50%

In accordance with the applicable law, the following represents a good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum compensation range for this position:

  • The estimated annual pay range for this role is $115,000 - $128,000 CAD
    • There may be future opportunities for continued pay progression based on continued strong performance in the role.
