Job Summary

At Stay22, the Engine squad is at the heart of our most intelligent and revenue-driving products. We are looking for a Senior Fullstack Developer who thrives on the challenge of balancing innovation with execution. In this role, you will be shaping the future of our products with a 50/50 focus on both frontend and backend development. Your expertise in TypeScript, JavaScript, and Python will be crucial as you work closely with our Product Manager in an R&D-driven environment where priorities shift rapidly. Your work will be instrumental in handling large-scale data operations, analytics, and optimizing browser performance, ensuring our products are not only smart but also fast.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end design, development, and rollout of entire initiatives, demonstrating a high level of technical competency and leadership
  • Utilize your deep knowledge of TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, and Python to build and maintain robust fullstack solutions, with a focus on optimizing FCP, LCP, and TBT metrics
  • Lead efforts in data analytics, unstructured data processing, and DOM operations, ensuring our products are data-driven and performant
  • Work closely with Product Managers to iterate rapidly, balancing technical innovation with business priorities. Discuss trade-offs on scope and timing, and offer well-reasoned technical designs
  • Drive the hack-and-research approach within the squad, testing and iterating on various ideas to achieve business goals. Be prepared to pivot quickly as priorities change
  • Mentor other developers, help ramp up new team members, and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the squad
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with stakeholders, ensuring that all projects align with business-level strategic initiatives. Be proactive in identifying risks and proposing solutions
  • Promote simplicity and maintainability in your work, always considering the long-term implications for both the codebase and the user experience

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 6-8+ years of experience in Fullstack development, with a strong emphasis on backend technologies like MongoDB, Python, and PostgreSQL
  • Deep understanding of modern frameworks and technologies, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality, performant web applications. Strong knowledge of web performance metrics (FCP, LCP, TBT) is essential
  • A creative mindset and strong problem-solving abilities, capable of navigating complex technical challenges with pragmatic solutions
  • Proven experience in leading and mentoring other developers, with a focus on delivering significant improvements to the codebase and overall product quality
  • Comfort with rapid iteration and the potential for significant project changes or pivots

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of both frontend and backend solutions

About this team and role:

The Desktop Engineering team are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to work on the new tab page, which is a key surface that Firefox users experience many times a day as a starting point to their browsing journeys.

Our team is geographically-distributed, and working in the open is the norm. We contribute to the code driving the Firefox browser on a number of desktop platforms - Windows, Linux, and macOS.

  • Build high quality user interfaces for Firefox with accessibility and usability in mind

Role Overview

The Storefront Team at Recharge is responsible for storefront widgets and backend services. These inject Recharge features; Subscriptions, Bundles, and Loyalty benefits into our merchant’s checkout experience. Experience / Education / Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant backend development experience across back-end such as Python, Google services like Cloud Functions, MySQL, Redis.
  • Familiarity with micro-service architecture
  • 1+ years of experience with a major modern Web UI framework (e.g. ReactJS, Vue)
  • Demonstrable cloud computing experience
  • Prior e-commerce experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or other STEM-related field or equivalent work experience

 

Bonus Experience:

  • Experience in e-commerce
  • Experience building within Shopify’s ecosystem
