Job Description

This is a remote opportunity for an innovative, collaborative, Full-Stack Software Developer to join our software products group (a group within the company that produces our own software, including IMAGINiT Clarity, IMAGINiT Pulse, and more). We are looking for an experienced technology professional who can quickly grow into a leadership role for web-centric product development within the team, defining the technical direction and approach for existing and new products.

As a Full-Stack Software Developer, you will create impact by:

  • Translating product requirements into plans
  • Leading the design, planning and estimation process
  • Establishing technical approach and standards for each product
  • Leading the development effort for the web side of the products
  • Contributing best practices and lessons learned for the team

ABOUT YOU:

Development Skills

  • Full stack web developer
  • Develop quality code and deliverables, utilizing best practices and processes

  • Develop new products and features, but also maintain various existing products

Remote Work

  • Ability to work productively in a remote/home environment

Qualifications

  • BS in computer science, engineering or mathematics
  • Self-starting, energetic, fast learner and motivated individual who works well in a small and distributed environment.

  • Has worked within a small team of developers with source control tools and formalized development methodology.
  • 7+ years of experience developing and delivering software applications
  • 5+ years of experience with C# and .NET Framework

  • Provide technical guidance in the Discovery, Solution Evaluation, and Solution Proposal stages of the opportunity sales cycle

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Front End) to join our growing engineering team and help us build out scalable, reliable, performant solutions in our SaaS platform.


Your responsibilities

  • Design/Development - Work collaboratively to design scalable, performant, robust solutions alongside product managers and other software engineers. Developing those services in the most appropriate language (latest published ES version JavaScript) using primarily React.

  • Quality Assurance- Working with product managers to develop specifications and design to ensure quality solutions and happy customers. You’ll also work with other engineers on performance, security and robustness testing of the UI.

  • Ensure the privacy of our clients’ data- You will follow our data security policy and strive to maintain data security first and foremost for every task you undertake.


Our challenges:

Here are some of the challenges we are thinking about right now:

  • Building out scalable modern microservices on AWS/Kubernetes using JavaScript, Python, and Go, in a way it allows for the autonomy of teams, fault tolerance, reliable monitoring and alerting. We’re working on continually adapting the system for growth as we continue to onboard more clients, especially as we expand our US presence.
  • Updating and modernising our front-end architecture, choosing the right tools for the job. 
  • Optimising our reporting and inference engine (AI) to run analytics over millions of data points in real-time for our clients.  

Requirements

  • Experience level 
    • Solid JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, LESS/CSS experience
    • Experience with at least one front end framework ideally React, or others like  Vue, Angular, etc and building SPAs (including setting up tooling like Webpack and Babel)
    • Experience working with the DOM APIs and security in a browser context
    • Experience with unit and end-to-end testing (e.g. Cypress)
    • A background in functional programming approaches (e.g. Ramda, RxJS) would be a plus
    • Working with micro front ends and having contributed to a style guide would be a plus
    • You also have excellent communication skills - both written and verbal

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced frontend engineer to join the engineering team. You’ll be working alongside a highly technical and motivated team and report to one of our Engineering Managers or Engineering Leads. In this position, you will collaborate closely with KIPP Foundation stakeholders and internal teams to deliver innovative technology solutions that power KIPP’s growth and enable smarter decision-making. Responsibilities 

Application Design and Development 

  • Work closely with key stakeholders to scope user requirements and align technical solutions with KIPP's mission of improving student outcomes. 

  • Provide subject matter expertise in developing new features for existing applications and determining the appropriate platforms for new initiatives. 

  • Propose a comprehensive architecture to solve business requirements, ensuring alignment with KIPP’s overall technology strategy and framework. 

  • Design and develop information architecture and navigation layouts, prioritizing usability and user adoption to enhance the user experience. 

  • Customize and enhance applications across multiple technology platforms to meet KIPP's operational needs. 

  • Oversee and review technical designs and code produced by consultants, ensuring quality and alignment with KIPP’s standards. 

  • Ensure comprehensive unit testing and participate in the user acceptance testing process to deliver high-quality applications. 

DevOps and Deployment 

  • Oversee the deployment pipeline, ensuring smooth and reliable delivery of applications across development, staging, and production environments. 

  • Collaborate with the development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of code changes while maintaining system stability. 

  • Manage and automate the release process, implementing practices to minimize downtime and reduce risk during deployments. 

  • Ensure all environments (development, staging, production) are properly configured and optimized for performance, availability, and security. 

  • Monitor the health and performance of applications and infrastructure, addressing issues proactively to ensure high availability and system integrity. 

  • Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures to safeguard data and application continuity. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain version control, manage code repositories, and handle branching and merging strategies efficiently. 

  • Work with the operations team to maintain servers and manage infrastructure scaling and optimization. 

Application Support and Infrastructure 

  • Serve as Tier II support for unresolved application issues, working closely with the Helpdesk Technician to provide timely and efficient solutions. 

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other IT team members, fostering a collaborative and learning-focused environment. 

  • Collaborate with the IT Operations team to ensure that applications are patched, upgraded, and fully operational during scheduled maintenance windows. 

  • Develop processes, in collaboration with the IT Operations team, to ensure data security, high availability, and effective disaster recovery strategies. 

Documentation 

  • Provide written design documents and regularly update documentation with as-built information for accuracy and continuity. 

  • Maintain thorough documentation of the Application Development infrastructure, including server and database inventories, application licenses, and related technical resources.

Experience and Qualifications 

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant technical experience in software development is mandatory, with a strong emphasis on hands-on development, architecture, integration projects, delivering complex solutions, and proven technical leadership. 

  • Expertise in building and enhancing applications within Salesforce, including APEX, Flows, Lightning Components, Visualforce, and SOQL. 

  • Strong proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) languages such as C#, along with front-end technologies like HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. 

  • Experience with database management, including SQL Server, BigQuery, and data modeling, as well as integration through API endpoints (OAuth2). 

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD, version control, and automated deployments. 

  • Experience working in cloud environments (Azure) and managing application infrastructure for high availability. 

  • Hands-on experience with CMS platforms (WordPress), marketing tools (HubSpot), system integration tools (SSIS), and identity management with OneLogin. 

  • Proficient in project management and collaboration tools like Jira, Smartsheet, Microsoft Office 365, and Teams.

The Role

The Pr. Technical Consultant, IT Workflow is the functional and technical expert of a customer engagement team – consulting with customers and configuring the ServiceNow ITSM products based on configuration best practices – all with the goal of accelerating and driving customer business outcomes.

  • Be the technical expert in how to best support IT by configuring ITSM Service Delivery using ServiceNow best practices focused on configuration vs. customization
  • Support the engagements efforts for ITSM specific process definition, re-engineering, improvement and gap analysis of current/future-state processes during workshops with key customer sponsors and stakeholders
  • Advise customers in their efforts to take advantage of the ServiceNow ITSM Solution’s standard capabilities in their efforts to improve their IT processes.

Qualifications

In order to be successful in this role, we need someone who has:

  • United States Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Clearance
  • At least 5 years of configuration/development experience for complex, highly-capable, technologies – inclusive of integrations and portals
  • Maintain skills / certifications on CIS-IRM and any other risk implementation certifications
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and consult (providing options with pros, cons and risks) in an IT environment, while providing thought leadership to IT sponsors/stakeholders in solving business process and/or technical problems
  • Experience with Web Technologies (XML, HTML, JavaScript, Web Services, Bootstrap, CSS, middleware, LDAP, SSO, etc.) and working with SaaS technologies

For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $155,600 - $272,400, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs. 

 

Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located and is subject to change based on work location.
