Job Responsibilities:

  • Be a Security Champion in an agile Security Engineering team owning and operating the services you build
  • Research, specify, and test cloud hosting architectures leveraging your web, database, and OS knowledge
  • Debug the toughest distributed systems production issues

Skills:

  • 2-6 years of related experience
  • Cloud security and compliance experience using AWS (e.g., Firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, DDOS prevention and PCI-DSS, HIPAA, FedRAMP, etc.)
  • Strong software development background using any general programming language
  • Understanding of Kubernetes
  • Passion for websites and website delivery architecture
  • Deep, working knowledge of LAMP stack--OS, web server, and database systems (Linux, Apache, and MySQL preferred)
  • Linux packages (e.g., Debian or RPM packages); RHEL and Ubuntu experience
  • Networking (e.g., TCP/IP, Routing, DNS, load balancing, HTTP caching, clustering, VPN, etc.)
  • Holistic understanding of the Internet and hosting from the network layer up through the application layer.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple teams and drive results

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Software development using Python or Go
  • Experience with threat modeling, especially for web application and web APIs
  • Configuration management (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
  • Containerization:  Docker, LXC, etc.
  • Kubernetes: Hands-on, working experience securing K8s deployments according to “hard multi-tenancy” guidelines and methods.

What you’ll be doing…
  • Serve as the customer’s first point of contact for their requests via web-based cases, live chat, and phone, ensuring they are handled, monitored, and resolved in a timely manner
  • Determine how to best triage, escalate, and/or resolve sophisticated challenges in real time for a diverse, global customer base
  • Assist with preliminary troubleshooting and/or advising best practices across our multi-cloud suite, which may even include product updates or software configurations

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in a STEM related field

  • Technical Skills: Basic understanding of Mac, Linux, and Windows OS

We provide secure-by-default infrastructure, consumable security services, and expert consultation to engineering teams for secure cloud and non-cloud infrastructure.

The Platform Security team covers a broad problem space that includes all areas of Gemini’s platform infrastructure. In the past, this team has focused specifically on cloud security and we continue to invest heavily in this area.  This role will bring additional depth and specialization in database design, security and  We also value expertise in neighboring areas of infrastructure and platform security engineering including: PKI, core cryptography, identity management, network security, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain database, and relevant security controls for security and engineering teams.
  • Build and improve security controls capturing data in transit and data at rest. 
  • Partner with engineering teams on security architecture and implementation decisions.
  • Own our database security roadmap and act as relevant SME within Gemini.
  • Collaborate with AppSec, Threat Detection, Incident Response, GRC and similar security functions to identify, understand, and reduce security risk.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in the field.
  • Extensive knowledge of database architecture and security principles.

The Role: Principal Software Engineer

As the founding engineer and tech lead for the new Security Services team, you will help shape and deliver core infrastructure to power Gemini’s security capabilities.

In this Principal-level role, you will set the technical direction for building, owning, and operating security-critical software, platforms, tooling, frameworks, and libraries. Leveraging your deep backend engineering expertise, you will provide hands-on engineering and leadership as the team scales up.

You will collaborate with other security and engineering teams to understand needs, architect solutions, develop robust systems, and support existing tools inherited by the new team. With a security-first mindset, you will establish secure software development patterns and DevSecOps culture.

As the tech lead, you will have wide latitude to craft our security infrastructure while mentoring and growing a world-class engineering team. Your mission is engineering mastery through operational excellence to support security.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect, build, and support security platforms and tools leveraging robust software and systems engineering
  • Collaborate with security and engineering teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and develop new capabilities
  • Provide technical leadership and hands-on expertise as the founding member of a new engineering team
  • Maintain and extend existing security platforms
  • Hire and mentor strong backend engineers to build out the team

Salary Range: The base salary range for this role is between $198,000 - $247,000 in the State of New York, the State of California and the State of Washington. The Opportunity

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

An ASE is responsible for the ongoing triage and validation services of Bugcrowd managed programs. Under the direction of the Director of Technical Operations, you will take incoming submission data and curate it for validity, accuracy, and severity as well as communicate directly with Bugcrowd’s clients or researchers when additional information is required. ASEs also handle Incident Response – escalating and communicating about the highest severity bugs to clients. ASEs need to have strong knowledgeof OWASP Top Ten type vulnerabilities. They also usually require a strong skill set in one scripting/development language, often to assist with the design or development of tooling for improving the triage/validation process.  The ASE position is perfect for security professionals looking to take their skills to the next level.

What you'll do

We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join our Zero Trustteam. You will be working on theZero Trust desktop client, which protects corporate devices by securely and privately sending traffic from those devices to Cloudflare’s global network, which can apply advanced web filtering and advanced Zero Trust policies.

In your role, you will predominantly be usingRustalongside platform-native languages & APIs to implement high-performance networking code that runs on multiple desktop platforms. You’ll be expected toimprove the code qualityand to build solid,testable,andwell-documentedfoundations. You will be most successful in this role if you have a good understanding ofoperating system concepts(virtual memory, multi-threading, process lifecycle, etc.) and networking concepts & protocols (VPNs, firewalls, TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, QUIC, H/3, proxying, etc.). You will also have to interact with other languages, such as Swift, C#, C, and python.

As a Software Engineer, you will be expected to make significant contributions to the design and implementation of major development projects, working closely with our product managers and other teams to implement customer-impacting features. Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location.

  • For Bay Area based hires: Estimated annual salary of $162,000 - $198,000.
