At Scalable Capital, we are thrilled to expand our Data Department with multiple new ML Engineering roles in our growing Data Science team. Depending on the applicant's profile, this role can either focus more on the infrastructure side (i.e., MLOps) or bridge the gap between software development and Machine Learning. Responsibilities:

  • Identify, evaluate, implement, and maintain (Gen) AI / ML technologies for internal but also potential future client-serving services by following software engineering best practices
  • Drive the development of appropriate architectures for deploying and maintaining scalable ML/(Gen) AI solutions
  • Build infrastructure components, CI/CD pipelines, configure, extend, and maintain our existing ML services on AWS
  • Evaluate retrieval techniques, language models, and generative AI methodologies by not losing your focus on pragmatic solutions
  • Implement automated testing and monitoring techniques to ensure the accuracy and reliability of AI systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration of AI systems into business processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • A generalist mindset to continuously learn and open to switch between different technical domains like Backend, Frontend, AI/ML Infrastructure
  • Extensive experience in AI/ML technologies and software development (Python)
  • Experience with building frontends (e.g., Next.js would be a big plus)
  • Experience with dockerization, cloud platforms, preferably AWS (ECS, Lambdas, API Gateway,...), and related ML/GenAI services such as AWS Bedrock, Sagemaker
  • Familiarity with building CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and version control practices
  • Confidence in working with modern machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, Transformers, Langchain, LlamaIndex
  • Strong understanding of chains, routing, agents, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and the use of vector databases for managing structured and unstructured data sources
  • Familiarity with MLOps practices, understanding the lifecycle of ML model development and deployment, performance monitoring and how this can be also applied to LLM use cases
  • Ideally hands on experience with model training, fine-tuning, evaluation, optimization, risk mitigation even in production environments
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., terraform)
  • Interest in financial services and markets is a plus

Opportunity Overview:

We are looking for an AI commercial solutions leader to amplify Cohere’s value to health plans, providers, and patients.   • The Statistician/Data Scientist, within the Safety Data Analysis Team will be using their statistical expertise to translate discussion from a variety of stakeholders into core questions and then robust designs that answer those questions. You will be answering safety assurance related questions relevant to transportation and autonomous driving systems.

  • Being a software and automated vehicle company, this role involves working with large-scale, heterogenous data that are generated by sensors in software testing and during on-road operations. Your day-to-day work will leverage Python and its scientific libraries as well as R. A large portion of this work will require integration of physics and engineering principles to prepare data and evaluate its accuracy. You will also be connecting analyses with development workflows to automate the safety related monitoring of the organization and development process.

  • Anticipate, research, and maintain facility with statistical methods used in ground transportation safety domain as well as analog domains

  • Identify and select appropriate analyses methods for data ranging in scale from dense to sparse; apply statistical principals to manage bias and select appropriate sampling strategies; develop models and compare using statistical performance metrics

  • Use an iterative method of data pre-processing, interactive visualization, and sharing of intermediate results to solicit early and ongoing guidance and buy-in from a variety of stakeholders

  • Construct continuous analysis workflows to support day-to-day operations, gateway decision making, and event response

  • Contribute to both impromptu discussions and planned gatherings to explain statistical approaches, weigh alternatives and provide robust statistical expertise

  • Reduce complex statistical concepts and findings to unbiased, understandable and relevant information to influence individual developers, teams, executives and external stakeholders

  • Translate methods and findings into clear and concise documentation

What you will need to succeed

  • Degree(s) in Statistics or related technical field with relevant experience as specified below:

    • MS degree with 4+ years of experience
    • PhD with 2+ years
  • Broad capabilities in statistical approaches and tools, both Bayesian and frequentist, experimental design, power analyses, ML, sparce/rare event analyses, time series analysis, categorical data analysis, multivariate analysis, and clustering

  • Experience across a range of statistical approaches applied to engineering and/or physics-based applications (for example, ground vehicles in motion); demonstrable programming competency, particularly in Python, SQL and R

  • Time management skills and the ability to track and prioritize tasks

  • Naturally inquisitive and an excellent strategic problem solver. Able to dissect complex problems, make appropriate tradeoffs, and develop thoughtful recommendations

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to build trust and strong working relationships, effectively create and proofread documents and reports, and communicate to a diverse workforce

What you'll be doing

We're looking for an experienced, highly motivated Machine Learning Engineer to support the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of Ripjar's analytics and data products. The Ads Marketplace team is responsible for the systems and algorithms for showing the right ad to the right user at the right time to balance all of user value, advertiser value, and instacart revenue . The team optimizes a multi-sided marketplace to ensure customers see ads that help them try new products/brands, advertisers get their products out in front of appropriate users for a good return on investment, and instacart generates the deserving revenue as well. The team tackles hard problems in a variety of spaces, such as ranking, pricing, personalization, auction, UX as well as foundational problems executing on a high throughput system with dynamic data.

 

About the Job:

  • Design, develop, and deploy machine learning solutions to tackle practical challenges in the ads organization.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, data scientists, and backend engineers to deeply understand business needs and create impactful ML applications.
  • Actively engage with diverse stakeholders to ensure that solutions are well-integrated and aligned with business goals.
  • Push the envelope on our operational efficiency by continually refining and advancing our algorithms and models.

 

About You:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Have a graduate degree (masters or PhD) in artificial intelligence, machine learning, operations research or equivalent self study and experience
  • Have strong programming skills in Python and fluency in data manipulation (SQL, Pandas) and Machine Learning (scikit-learn, XGBoost, Keras/Tensorflow) tools
  • Have strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability
  • Are a strong communicator who can collaborate with diverse stakeholders across all levels

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have 1-2 years of industry experience using machine learning to solve real-world problems with large datasets
  • Knowledge of deep learning frameworks and methodologies
  • Experience in applying machine learning and optimization techniques to solve marketplace problems

  • In-depth knowledge of the digital advertising ecosystem, including ad serving technologies and programmatic technologies (DSPs, SSPs, exchanges, etc), as well as agency, brand, publisher, and technology vendor dynamics
  • Strong knowledge base in identity, data modeling techniques, audience segmentation, and ad measurement
  • Hands-on experience with SQL, coupled with the skill to write queries against secure datasets to confirm product assumptions and discoveries

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the product development lifecycle, focusing on execution from concept through to launch, adoption, and ongoing optimization
  • Collaborate with engineering, ML, data science, and UX teams to ensure products are conceived and built to the highest standards
  • Define clear product roadmaps based on a deep understanding of market needs, technological trends, and AdRise's strategic priorities
