About the Job

What You’ll Do

  • Create new Spring Java micro services to break down our existing PHP monolith or support new product features
  • Create new API gateways to enable external integration (eg.Tile and JioBit)
  • Horizontally scale our system to handle another 10+ billion events per day
  • Monitor health, suggest improvements for and deploy your own services
  • Example: Build the next generation of our event streaming architecture to handle billions of events per day storing up to trillions of events in cold storage

Compensation, Rewards & Benefits:

For this sales role, our estimate of the expected hiring range for the position as posted is $90,000 - $200,000; this includes annualized base salary and annualized target sales incentive.     What we're looking for:

    We’re looking for you if you’re an experienced, full-stack engineer. More specifically, we’re looking for:

    • Someone with a fair amount of experience working on both server- and client-side web software. You should have familiarity with cloud development, why Test Driven Development (TDD) is critical while writing code, what makes an API RESTFul, what React is, what an XSS attack is, and how an MVC web framework works. That will probably mean you’ve been doing this stuff for a few years.
    • Someone who understands fundamental computer science concepts. That doesn’t necessarily mean you have a CS degree. But you should be able to describe how a pointer works, what Big O notation is and how to use it, when to use composition and when to use inheritance and the differences between an array and a linked list and a set.
    • Someone with a firm grasp of SQL and databases in general (including non-relational databases). You should know how to do CRUD operations, what indexes are and why they matter, and the difference between a left join and an inner join for instance.

    • Two of the following penetration certifications required: GWAPT, CEPT, LPT, GPEN, CPT, GXPN, PenTest+, GAWN, GMOB, CRTOP
    • Proficiency with scripting languages (Python, Bash, JavaScript, powershell)
    • Knowledge of incident response/forensics/red-teaming or DevOps a huge plus but not required. 
    • You have 5+ years of experience with penetration tests and vulnerability assessments; including internal, external, wireless, mobile, and web application testing.
    • You have an understanding of API’s, how they work, and how to test them.
    • You have used cloud CSP’s such as AWS, Azure, AliCloud, Google cloud, Rackspace, and any internal associated components/controls.
    • You can perform social engineering campaigns including phishing, vishing, and physical.
    • You can re-image your own system when necessary, and navigate Kali Linux to conduct penetration tests, with only command line access as necessary.
    • You can create, modify, and write documents from command line, and write Bash scripts to automate or facilitate tasks as necessary.
    • You can write professional reports with proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation, that need very little QA review.
    • You can communicate with clients, and understand if something needs to be escalated internally.
    • You are comfortable monitoring the metrics of a project, personal utilization, and constant improvement toward efficiency.
    • You are willing to expand your knowledge, obtain relevant certifications, and meet CPE requirements as necessary.
    • You are ready and willing to learn, and accept a new challenge.
    • You have three or more certifications such as CEH, OSCP, OSCE, GWAPT, GPEN, CEPT, LPT, CPT, GXPN, PenTest+, GAWN, GMOB, CRTOP

    Skills:

    • You have working knowledge of Kali Linux and standard security assessment tools (e.g., NMAP, metasploit, Scapy, Burp Suite, SSLStrip, Ettercap, Nessus, Nikto, AppScan) and  can talk about any others you have used.
    • You have strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • You can run scans and perform tests with minimal impact to client networks.
    • You have an understanding of both iOS and Android application testing, and how to jailbreak/root devices, use emulators.
    • You know about SOAP/REST/JSON web APIs and how to test them.
    • You have experience using interpreted languages (Ruby, Python, PHP, etc.) 
    • You can explain findings in a non-technical form.

    The ideal candidate may also have:

    • Programming experience in one or more of the following languages: Ruby, Python, Perl, C, C++, Java, and C#

    • Discovers and exploits vulnerabilities affecting corporate infrastructure.
    • Develops and maintains tools to assist in vulnerability research and exploit development.
    • Communicates information security vulnerabilities to the business.

    • Perform Independent Verification and Validation activities.

    • Escalates issues to IT, security team, and engineering through standard escalation processes.
    • Provides technical expertise and advice on all areas of security technology, including: network security, platform security, authentication/authorization systems, application security, security architecture, policy enforcement, and security frameworks.
    • Integrates information security controls into an environment to identify risks and reduce impact.
    • Deliver high quality actionable advice.
    • Works with technology groups to evaluate, select, install, and configure hardware/software systems to comply with established enterprise security standards and policies.

     

    Qualities you possess…

    • 5+ years of Information Security experience.
    • 3+ years direct or equivalent experience in areas of penetration testing, exploit development, vulnerability research and management.
    • In-depth knowledge and experience with Linux Operating Systems.
    • Experience performing host, network, and web application penetration tests.
    • Scripting experience with the ability to develop custom scripts, exploits, and tools.
    • Experience with common penetration testing tools.
    • Experience developing detailed penetration testing reports that can speak to multiple audience types.
    • One or more of the following Security certifications: OSCP, PenTest+, CISSP, SSCP, CSSLP, Security+.

     

    Desired Requirements...

    • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering or a related technical field or equivalent professional experience.
    • Experienced programming using PHP, nodejs, and Python (or a comparable scripting language).
