 Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience with focus on backend development as this job is mainly backend work.
  • 5+ years of coding experience with at least one modern language such as Python, Elixir, Ruby,  or Go with function-oriented design.
  • Experience with front end development and web programming using React, TypeScript or JavaScript
  • Experience working with Databases (Postgres), APIs and web infrastructure
  • Evidence of exposure to OpenAI technologies or any LLM AI/ML emerging technologies
  • Evidence of exposure to architectural patterns of a large, high-scale web application (e.g., well-designed APIs, high volume data pipelines, efficient algorithms)

Overview

You Have

  • 6+ years of software development experience
  • 4+  Experience with programming languages: Java

  • Solid understanding of Data Structures and Algorithm Design

LivePerson is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer for the GPT (Global Product & Technology) Division. You will be part of the LiverPerson SRE team building and managing highly available, distributed systems.   • Ensure product high uptime and reliability 24x7.
  • Manage Linux servers in a multi-cloud environment
  • Manage high availability Kubernetes resources using Helm charts

  • Monitoring and troubleshooting warnings and alerts related to the reporting platform’s performance

This role involves domain and product area ownership, specifically focusing on developing and enhancing communications with users through various forms such as chat, email, messaging, and more. You will ensure seamless and effective engagement, improving both candidate and customer experiences.

Our ability to deliver quality software to our customers in a timely, predictable manner will be directly attributable to your capacity to identify and address challenges faced by the initiatives you will be leading.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of the HireVue platforms ensuring that we’re utilizing the best development techniques, architectural patterns, frameworks and libraries for those initiatives

  • Own and ensure the resolution of complex problems found in our systems and integrations

  • Find opportunities to broadcast knowledge and lessons learned across delivery teams

  • Delegate to teammates and work with them to ensure they're successful

  • Identify technical debt buydown opportunities and work with the product line leadership team to prioritize these activities

  • Ensure patterns are in place to provide thorough automated testing with tests at each level of the test pyramid

  • Communicate patterns and solutions through both thorough written documentation and technical presentations

Qualifications

We’re looking for an experienced, full-stack engineer. More specifically, we’re looking for:

  • Someone with experience designing, building, deploying, supporting SaaS products. You should have familiarity with cloud development, Test Driven Development (TDD), RESTFul APIs, XSS attacks, and MVC web frameworks. 

  • Someone who understands fundamental computer science concepts. That doesn’t necessarily mean you have a CS degree. You should be able to describe technical design options, engineering trade offs, making technical recommendations and decisions. 

  • Someone with a firm grasp of SQL and databases in general (including non-relational databases). You should know how to do CRUD operations, what indexes are and why they matter, and the difference between a left join and an inner join for instance.

  • Someone to work hand in hand with Product and UX, to design solutions that deliver business value and delight customers. 

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Computer Science (or related field), equivalent trade school degree, or equivalent work experience

  • 8+ years in a software engineering role, 12+ years preferred

  • Highly proficient with languages and technologies listed below

  • Experience with dialogue systems, machine learning systems, multi-agent LLM architectures, and  AI natural language processing (NLP)

  • Familiarity with AWS foundational services

You will ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of our database systems while fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. This position requires deep operational expertise in PostgreSQL, experience with Azure, and a strategic mindset to drive database solutions that align with our commitment to reliability and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Management: Design, implement, and maintain PostgreSQL database systems, primarily managed instances in cloud environments (Azure), to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability.
  • Performance Tuning: Conduct performance tuning and optimization of database queries, indexes, and configurations to enhance efficiency.
  • Backup and Recovery: Develop and manage robust backup and recovery strategies, ensuring data integrity and availability in case of failures.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Implement and maintain monitoring solutions using tools such as Redgate, pganalyze, and New Relic to proactively identify and resolve database issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Security: Implement and maintain database security measures, including user management, encryption, data masking and access controls, to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross functional teams to support application development and deployment processes.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, scripts and best practices.
  • Standards and Procedures: Provide guidance in the creation and modification of standards and procedures including scripts for automation and reporting for adherence to standards.
  • On-call Support: Participate in on-call rotations as an opportunity to enhance the reliability and performance of our database systems, ensuring minimal disruptions and optimal performance without frequent interruptions.

What You’ll Need (Required Qualifications):

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 10 years of operational experience at scale in database management with at least 6 years focused on PostgreSQL.
    • Extensive experience managing PostgreSQL databases in cloud environments, particularly Azure. Experience with GCP is a plus but not required.
    • Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipelines, Database/Schema as Code tools, and Git workflows.
    • Expert level experience analyzing and tuning queries to improve application performance.
    • Experience with database recovery, including point-in-time recovery and transaction wraparound process remediation.
    • Experience with management of Postgres Vacuuming process, able to design and implement processes and standards to prevent production impacting Vacuuming events.
    • Experience with PostgreSQL upgrade processes.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture, performance tuning, and query optimization experience with Azure Query Performance Insight is a plus.
    • Advanced knowledge of operating databases at large scale in cloud-managed environments including optimizing for cpu, memory,IO usage and cost management.
    • Proficiency in automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Flyway.
    • Strong understanding of security practices and compliance frameworks.
    • Extensive knowledge of PostgreSQL internals, index design, statistics and wait types.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Strategic thinker with the ability to drive long-term database solutions aligned with business goals.

The base salary hiring range for this position is $108,900 to $189,700. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, and benefits.

    Requirements:

    • 2+ years of professional software development experience
    • 2+ years of coding experience with at least one modern language such as Python, Elixir, Ruby, Rust, Java, or Go with function-oriented design.
    • Experience with front end development and web programming using React, TypeScript or JavaScript
    • Experience working with Databases (Postgres), APIs and web infrastructure
    • Evidence of exposure to OpenAI technologies or any AI/ML emerging technologies
    • Evidence of exposure to architectural patterns of a large, high-scale web application (e.g., well-designed APIs, high volume data pipelines, efficient algorithms)

    About the Team

    The Product Engineering organization is responsible for building, maintaining, and improving the end-user experiences that comprise our software platform. These experiences are full-stack solutions built atop a complex and robust data platform in order to support key security workflows for both third-party risk management and external attack surface management personas.

    About the Role

    We are seeking a seasoned Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of talented engineers in developing and delivering innovative cybersecurity solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, proven leadership skills, and a passion for driving high-quality software development in a fast-paced environment.

    This is a hybrid role that will require being on-site at least once a week in our Midtown New York office.

    Responsibilities:

    • Team Leadership:Manage and mentor a team of software engineers to cultivate a collaborative and inclusive team culture. Offer guidance on career development and professional growth.
    • Project Management:Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and with high quality. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align on priorities and dependencies.
    • Technical Oversight:Provide technical direction and architectural guidance to the engineering team. Ensure the implementation of best practices in software development, including code reviews, testing, and continuous integration.
    • Process Improvement:Identify and implement process improvements to enhance team productivity, efficiency, and software quality. Promote the adoption of agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
    • Stakeholder Collaboration:Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define and translate project requirements into actionable plans. Communicate project status, risks, and issues to all relevant parties.
    • Innovation:Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies. Encourage innovation within the team to continuously improve our products and processes.

    Qualifications:

    • Education:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
    • Experience: At least 10 years of experience in software engineering, with a minimum of 3 years in a management role.
    • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Javascript, Typescript, React, Redis, and Postgres. Deep experience with modern software development practices (e.g., Agile, DevOps). Experience with Open Search and Clickhouse is desirable.
    • Leadership: Demonstrated the ability to lead and inspire a team and have a proven track record of successfully delivering complex software projects.
    • Communication: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, focusing on delivering practical and scalable solutions.
    • Security Knowledge: Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and practices is highly desirable.

    The estimated salary range for this position is $130,000-150,000. Actual compensation for the position is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to affordability, skills, qualifications and experience, and may vary from the range.
