VetsEZ is seeking an Senior Database Administrator to be a part of a remote team with a strong background in MongoDB to lead database infrastructure initiatives. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing database solutions while leveraging cloud platforms to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of architecting complex database systems, understanding of database technologies, data modeling principles, and implementing best practices in cloud environments.

The candidate must reside within the continental US.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and architect MongoDB database solutions to meet business requirements, ensuring scalability, availability, and performance.

  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to define requirements, database schemas, indexes, and query optimizations for optimal application performance.

  • Lead the implementation and management of MongoDB deployments on AWS and Azure, including provisioning, configuration, and optimization.

  • Define and implement cloud-native database architectures leveraging AWS and Azure services such as Amazon RDS, Amazon Aurora, Amazon DynamoDB, Cosmos DB and others.

  • Conduct performance tuning, query optimization, and resource utilization analysis to optimize database performance.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively identify and address database performance issues.
  • Define and implement database security policies, procedures, and controls to protect sensitive data and conduct regular security assessments/audits to identify and remediate potential vulnerabilities.
  • Develop automation scripts and templates for database provisioning, configuration, and deployment using infrastructure as code (IaC) principles.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database architectures, configurations, and operational procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or equivalent degree.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated technical, IT, or Operations experience within a large-scale technology services environment in the following areas: Software development, database design, and infrastructure support.
  • Strong proficiency in MongoDB database administration, architecture, and performance tuning.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, including infrastructure design, deployment, and management.
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS database services such as Amazon RDS, Amazon Aurora, Amazon DynamoDB, and Amazon Redshift.
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages for infrastructure and database management (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, Python).
  • Experience developing strategies for data migration, backup, and disaster recovery in cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD).
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across teams and departments.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) or other health-related organizations desired.

  • Following certifications are a plus: MongoDB certification, AWS certification, Azure certification, etc.

  • Experience in SAFe/Agile Software Development.

  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-stakeholder and DevSecOps environment.

  • Ability to obtain a government clearance.

About the Role -As a Staff Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building a robust data platform that addresses strategic challenges within Ads and across Instacart. What you’ll do

As a member of the Zero Trust Escalation Engineering team, you will play a key role in addressing technical issues experienced by customers and internal users in all layers of our Zero Trust offering (Gateway SWG, Gateway Resolver, ZTNA Access, Infrastructure Access, Browser Isolation, Data Loss Prevention).

 

As the goto person for problem management of the most complex issues, you will collaborate with multiple Zero Trust teams to triage, prioritize, reproduce, evaluate impact, delve into client or server logs and source code, and methodically determine root causes. You will communicate updates and estimated time of resolution to stakeholders, including senior management.

 

The interconnectedness of our products will require you to use a wide range of advanced troubleshooting strategies and tools to reproduce and solve the most complex problems. You will need to have a broad, in-depth product knowledge and technical understanding, spanning multiple teams within the Zero Trust organization.

 

In addition to driving issue resolutions, you will contribute to the enhancement of operational efficiency. You will develop tooling, write thorough documentation, refine processes, and identify patterns to elevate the quality and efficiency of our management of issues, as well as our software development process.

Examples of desirable skills, knowledge, and experience

  • Depth of knowledge in our Zero Trust product portfolio, technologies, and customer use cases
  • Demonstrable experience with network-related software and underlying Internet technologies between L4 and L7 (TCP/UDP, DNS, VPNs, VLANs, proxies, etc.)
  • Experience working with and debugging man-in-the-middle TLS terminating proxies
  • Knowledgeable of DNS over HTTPS (DoH), DNS over TLS (DoT), and related DNS protocols
  • Proven track record in tracking and solving problems within complex and distributed environments, both on desktop and on the edge/in the cloud.

About the Role

We are looking for a talented and passionate Machine Learning Engineer to join our team and build the next generation of our real-time, data-driven applications. As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will provision and expand the infrastructure of ML and AI at Plum, whilst collaborating closely with Data Engineers and Data Scientists, who are currently managing numerous live production ML systems and delivering on a substantial roadmap. This traverses areas such as document processing automation, transaction fraud detection, marketing spend optimisation and customer retention.

  • Collaborate with data scientists, data analysts and data engineers on production systems and applications focused on traditional ML, generative AI and MLOps
  • Transition ML models from experimental prototypes to production deployments that can handle high volumes of data in real-time, enabling us to make rapid decisions and provide immediate value to our users
  • Stay engaged with the latest advancements in data science and fintech, particularly in the areas of leveraging ML techniques to deliver business impact.
  • Contribute to the continuous development of our AI and ML Ops infrastructure, covering areas such as model deployment, continuous retraining, feature store, performance monitoring and drift detection.
  • Exercise software engineering best practices in the codebase, like version control and continuous integration, with an aim to ensure our models are not just effective, but also thoroughly tested, well-documented, and regularly maintained.
  • Promote a culture of mutual learning and growth, where teaching and learning from colleagues is encouraged. We highly value knowledge sharing and ongoing learning.

Who you are????

  • Strong foundations in data structures, data modelling (e.g. Airflow and dbt), software architecture, Python, SQL, machine learning frameworks (e.g. Keras, PyTorch), and libraries (e.g. scikit-learn).
  • Proven experience in developing, maintaining and deploying machine learning models for real-time applications, with a strong understanding of streaming data processing technologies and real-time inference frameworks in production environments
  • Strong understanding of ML applications development life cycle processes and tools: CI/CD, version control (git), testing frameworks, MLOps, agile methodologies, monitoring and alerting, experiment trackers (e.g. mlFlow) & orchestrators (Airflow, Kubeflow)
  • Experience in building and optimizing scalable machine learning infrastructure in a cloud setup. We use Google Cloud Platform and leverage services like BigQuery, Vertex AI, and Cloud Storage.
  • You have a solid understanding of how to measure the performance of ML models
  • Strong problem-solving skills, a critical and creative mindset, and a team-oriented approach with a focus on mentorship and knowledge sharing.

Nice to Have

  • Deep knowledge of math, probability, statistics and algorithms
  • Experienced with Large Language Models, Generative AI, Langchain, Transformer models
  • Understanding of the concepts of GPU-powered workloads, NVIDIA drivers, container runtimes
  • Experience provisioning infrastructure components using Terraform, including virtual machines, storage, databases, and other necessary services

We’re looking for a Production Systems Developer to work with us to design bespoke hardware test software to support the mass production of state-of-the-art audio interfaces, MIDI controllers and synthesisers.  

The Role:

You will be working in a people-focused, multi-functional design & engineering team, collaborating on new product development and the continuous improvement of the production test software used in our factories. Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining production test software, writing backend functionality in Python and developing unit and end-to-end tests while also contributing to research and development and providing remote technical support to factory engineers.

Project work is typically managed in a combination of stage gated and agile methodologies to suite the technical discipline and project complexity. Focusrite is committed to improving and you will have opportunity to help evolve our working practices to keep up to date with technology trends in our product sector and best practice in the software development industry.

To be successful in your application for this role you will need:

  • Competent coding skill in Python and/or TypeScript/React  
  • A good understanding of audio electronics, measurement tools and methods 
  • Experience with databases (e.g. MySQL), distributed version control (e.g. Git), and continuous integration
  • Excellent design, debugging and problem-solving abilities
  • The ability to clearly articulate problems and solutions for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • A commitment to continual personal development, as well as improvement of the wider team

It would be advantageous if you have some of the following:

  • BEng/BSc degree, preferably in a related engineering subject – Computer Science, Electronics, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Systems, etc

An overview of this role

You'll be at the forefront of our R&D efforts within our Engineering department in this role. You’ll be expected to focus on improving GitLab’s security detection capabilities in ourApplication Security Testing stage groups. This includes SAST, DAST, Secret Detection and Composition Analysis, and future products.

Vulnerability Research Engineers perform research to analyze software vulnerabilities, exploitation methods, track new vectors, discover novel methods and approaches in software security, and apply this knowledge to the security products and GitLab itself. 

What You’ll Do  

  • Carry out research and come up with proofs of concepts that affect the security products and GitLab, including SAST, DAST, Secret Detection and Composition Analysis.
  • Curate advisory databases for dependency scanning. This is a semi-automatic task that includes auditing/reviewing, editing existing and adding new advisories to the database while, at the same time, trying to automate repetitive tasks away as much as possible.
  • Build/develop benchmarks to test the efficacy of scanning and detection products to constantly improve quality of results.
  • Measure and Improve the efficacy of scanning and detection products over time.
  • Write detailed technical reports.
  • Assess security product output results and conduct root cause analysis to improve efficacy.
  • Respond to internal and external customer inquiries on vulnerabilities and related topics.

What You’ll Bring 

  • 3+ years of direct experience in developing and improving vulnerability detection products in the context of web security.
  • Knowledge of the vulnerability management process.
  • Knowledge of software composition analysis (SCA) and software supply chain ecosystems.
  • Experience with source code analysis, static application security testing (SAST), and dynamic application security testing (DAST) along with benchmarking experience testing the efficacy of these products.
  • Knowledge about compilers, compiler design and construction.
  • Experience developing automated web security testing/analysis tools.
  • Experience in product development.
  • You have a passion for security and open source, and enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The Role: Staff Trading Services Engineer (Backend)

Our institutional OTC Trading platform serves as a gateway from traditional financial services into the digital asset ecosystem. As a software engineer, you will design and implement a variety of software systems that motivate, execute, and settle what is shaping up to be the largest transfer of wealth from the past to the future. It is hard to find a more exhilarating place to design, code, test, and deliver software products than in the real time trading environment of the front office of financial institutions.

We are looking for a talented software engineer that is focused and fascinated by the real time movement of price and value at wire speed across a global liquidity network of buyers and sellers.

Responsibilities:

  • Conceive, assemble, and deliver the financial platform that meets the OTC team’s functional and business requirements for our global broker/dealer platform
  • Build out our global liquidity network at scale across the key financial centers world wide
  • Cultivate best practices and collaborate with engineering teams structuring applications
  • Realize and promote the domain model and architecture for our broker/dealer platform

Minimum Qualifications:

About the Role:

Your work will be critical in the analytical and clinical validation of in-vitro diagnostic products and subsequent regulatory approval as companion diagnostics (CDx) for new therapeutics in the US and internationally. This work allows Guardant Health and its partner pharmaceutical companies to ensure that patients can find a life extending therapy that best matches their cancer.

As a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist in the follow-on CDx team, you will work as part of a cross-functional team with the Biostatistics, Regulatory, Technology Development, Medical Affairs, Business Development, and Marketing teams.  A successful candidate in this position will be able to provide bioinformatics support as a subject matter expert on next-generation sequencing (NGS) oncology diagnostic assays to help design and execute experiments in support of US and international regulatory submissions. This will require individual contributions to experimental and protocol design, statistical analysis of genomic data, and development of novel methods for determining quality and accuracy of cutting-edge oncology tests. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Technology Development team to troubleshoot and analyze verification and validation experiments as part of FDA submissions (IDE, sPMA and PMA) and international submission.
  • Design and develop software tools to automate analytical procedures.
  • Develop or apply statistical methods and procedures to describe and validate Guardant Health technologies.
  • Write and design experimental protocols and reports in collaboration with the technology development group.
  • Propose and present detailed designs and concise, well-written reports to cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct feasibility analyses, including simulations drawing from a rich database of historical test results and evaluation of external technologies.
  • Leverage cutting edge AI methods to streamline analytical workflows and continuously improve submission efficiency and efficacy.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to less senior team members.

Qualifications

  • PhD/Master level with 3+/5+ years related industry experience.
  • Experience with experimental design and associated statistical analysis (e.g., hypothesis testing, regression, hierarchical models, equivalence / non-inferiority)
  • Experience with interacting with medical diagnostic regulatory bodies (e.g. FDA, PMDA, EMA).
  • Experience with Python programing and Python data analysis libraries and tools (i.e. numpy, scipy, pandas , ipython notebooks, etc.).
  • Ability to develop analyses, models, reproducible code, and reports with Python
  • Familiarity with data science software development practices
  • Familiarity with genomic diagnostics

Preferred Qualifications

About the Role:  

As a Pre-Sales Working Student, you will work closely with our APJ (Asia Pacific Japan) Sales Engineering team.   • Building, operating and improving systems to move, process and store large amounts of data (Terabyte-Petabyte scale) leveraging tools such as: AWS Kinesis, S3, Spark / Glue, Athena, dbt, iceberg, snowflake, docker, workflow engines, and more.
  • Building components that support the handling of datasets, training, testing and release of new on-device and cloud-based ML models.
