Why We’re Hiring For This Role

The role of Site Reliability Engineers at Float is to increase the autonomy of the product and engineering teams by growing their capabilities to focus on solving problems. SRE makes sure our engineers get scalable infrastructure to build software on top of, making sure pipelines from idea to customer run smoothly and are easily built upon, and we also deal with broad areas of security around our network and defining internal security policy and practices.

Our goals for the Engineering team are to increase the pace with which they deliver improvements for our customers, provide an increasingly sophisticated and reliable service from our teams, and mitigate external threats as we grow.

You will help us tackle those problems by increasing reliability of our services to support larger clients joining Float, and increasing the robust security systems we’ve implemented to continue protecting our growing customer base.

You’ll be working asynchronously with a bright, dedicated team from across the globe, with a strong focus on taking complex problems and creating solutions that feel simple and intuitive for our customers.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Early on, you’ll jump right into:

  • Continuing to support the regular maintenance of all the engineering systems supporting Float’s customers
  • Identifying areas requiring support to scale
  • Identifying areas for improving service resilience, ultimately delivering the ability to be resilient within the product and engineering teams themselves
  • Optimizing our monitoring and observability stack, building on the knowledge to create a standard set of tools and configurations for the product and engineering teams
  • Understanding Float’s SLOs in context, and building out SLO patterns and procedures for product and engineering teams

Once you are settled, we expect that you will jump into the following projects:

  • Building a repeatable and trustworthy disaster recovery program using chaos engineering techniques
  • Migrating all of our deployment configurations to a global single source of truth
  • Expanding Float’s infrastructure across multiple regions to create a global network

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

We want you to love your work and believe that these skills will allow you to succeed in the role.

Applying these skills requires:

  • An excellent understanding of how SRE operates as an enabling team
  • A very good understanding of Service Level Objectives
  • Working experience with Terraform, Bash, and a go-to language which ideally would be one of PHP, NodeJS, Python
  • Experience with Kubernetes and GCP would be highly valued

As a fully remote team, we’re looking for someone comfortable with asynchronous communication as the default, which means you have previous remote experience and are comfortable using tools like Slack, Loom, and Linear to communicate as needed. Don’t worry—you will have significant deep work time since we have very few meetings.

About the Job

OffSec is looking for a self-driven, highly motivated and organized Project Manager/Scrum Master for our Project Management Team. The role will likely be split evenly between two areas of responsibility.

Scrum Master: In this area, the person will be responsible for managing the sprints and associated tasks for up to two software development teams, facilitating all meetings/Scrum ceremonies, mentoring and motivating the teams to improve their processes and eliminate impediments.   • Labor Management & Optimization:

About you

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred in management science, industrial, mechanical, or chemical engineering
  • 7+ years of experience in industrial engineering, with a focus on e-commerce fulfillment center design and optimization.  Preferred experience with footwear, apparel and accessories categories.
  • Proven track record in sourcing, implementing, and optimizing MHE, automation, and robotics solutions.
  • Strong experience in labor management, including engineered labor standards and LMS.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to lead complex initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, project, and product management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business/operational needs and translate them into operational process requirements.

Working conditions

The role

Agile Six is looking for a Senior System Architect for an anticipated role on our cross-functional agile teams. Our partners include: the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and others.

This engineer will lead the development of reusable and scalable integration solutions for healthcare entities using open-source components. This role focuses primarily on identifying technological solutions to potential domain challenges, and aligning solutions and implementations with technology goals. The right candidate will bring expertise with software development principles and best practices to create scalable, extensible, and maintainable solutions across all layers of the software stack.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute as part of a small Agile team of engineers to build a central set of services in support of state and federal health diagnostic test result reporting
  • Write components in Kotlin using software development best practices. (While existing knowledge of Kotlin is preferred, it is not essential to be considered for this position as long as the candidate is fluent in Java or another full-featured programming language and is willing to invest heavily in learning Kotlin)
  • Write front-end components in React, Javascript and/or Typescript
  • Leverage an expert understanding of design patterns, software engineering principles and best practices to create software components and services, guide architectural decisions, and solve complex technical problems
  • Communicate technical design concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders, both verbally and through diagrams
  • Work “in the open” using a public GitHub repository and issue tracker, and using collaborative communication channels such as Slack
  • Provide guidance and informal leadership to the team through code reviews, pair coding mentorship, etc.
  • Participate and be fully engaged in all team meetings and Agile ceremonies, including, but not limited to, daily standup meetings, sprint planning and backlog refinement meetings, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
  • Work with the Product Owner and other teammates to ensure that work is accurately described and appropriately prioritized, including providing input into product roadmaps, product and sprint backlogs, and user stories
  • Support the practice of engineering within the larger company as needed through activities such as:
    • Assisting in outreach, recruitment, and hiring efforts
    • Occasionally participating in or otherwise supporting business development efforts, including code or design challenges, writing or reviewing proposal responses, etc.

Basic qualifications

  • 9+ years of experience as a software engineer, with a Bachelor’s Degree

  • Understanding of common design patterns

The role

Responsibilities

  • Contribute as part of a small Agile team of engineers to build a central set of services in support of state and federal health diagnostic test result reporting
  • Write components in Kotlin using software development best practices. (While existing knowledge of Kotlin is preferred, it is not essential to be considered for this position as long as the candidate is fluent in Java or another full-featured programming language and is willing to invest heavily in learning Kotlin)
  • Leverage design patterns, software engineering principles and best practices to create software components and services
  • Work “in the open” using a public Github repository and issue tracker, and using collaborative communication channels such as Slack
  • Perform peer code reviews
  • Participate in an on-call rotations to respond to and triage production issues as needed

What you bring

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and resolve end-to-end employee lifecycle events across 80+ international jurisdictions, emphasizing an exceptional employment experience for Remote’s clients and their employees.
  • Manage all modifications to Employment Agreements for both internal and external employees of Remote including but not limited to issuance of Employment agreement amendments, Employment documents, Letters and Employment Forms as necessary in the capacity of Remote’s global HR team.
  • Collaborate with and coordinate various internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance in employee lifecycle activities, including but not limited to payroll, legal counsel, government bodies, and trade unions.
  • Assist Senior Specialists to manage critical initiatives that impact numerous employees across multiple countries and support HR and financial audits to ensure compliance with local employment regulations.
  • Develop and update global internal documentation pertaining to Contracts Management, based on legislative changes, referenced by all internal teams. Proactively address internal and external inquiries on all employment matters in collaboration with Lifecycle’s internal stakeholders.
  • As a Specialist, provide sound guidance and manage clients' requests on various HR matters acting as a trusted consultant to clients and employees.
  • Draft, tailor and administer all employee lifecycle documents with accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring employee records are maintained with strict adherence to privacy and confidentiality regulations.
  • Process employee lifecycle events on Remote’s internal HRIS platform, collaborating with various internal stakeholders, such as Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, Offboarding, Time and Attendance amongst other verticals, to ensure all aspects of the employee lifecycle pertaining to the employment terms are administered correctly and promptly.
  • Actively identify opportunities for and contribute to process improvements, automation, product development and overall customer and employee experience through the employee lifecycle process.

What you will do:

  • Partner with leaders to design and build organizational capability to deliver against Cohere’s strategic goals and objectives

  • Partner with the Finance team to align on budget and headcount planning for business units

Your background & requirements:

  • 8+ years of HR Business Partnership, Organizational Design & Development, and Employee Relations experience 
  • 4+ years driving change management initiatives in a high growth tech environment
  • Experience working with a call center/contact center environment preferred or a heavily populated non-exempt workforce, required
  • Experience across all facets of HR with a focus on Performance Management, Employee Relations, Compliance, Benefits, and Compensation
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s organizational structure, jobs, qualifications, compensation, and talent development practices. 
  • Ability to work across all levels within an organization that has included salaried and hourly employees 
  • Strong ability to influence and drive outcomes that solve problems
  • Exceptional interpersonal, coaching, facilitation and negotiation skills. Ability to establish credibility with all levels of employees, as well as ability to build and maintain professional client relationships
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be highly organized, flexible, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing competing priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Must demonstrate strong judgment and experience assessing strengths, gaps, risk, and opportunities to the business

In this role, you will: 

  • Lead Awesome Projects with Measurable Results: 
    • With marketing and sales leadership, define and prioritize goals and accounts for expansion, establish simple and powerful metrics, and create scorecards to measure what matters.

    • Craft detailed program and project plans that translate the expansion strategy and goals into executable actions.

    • Manage all program and project assets from creation to archival, ensuring everything is up-to-date and easily accessible.
    • Prepare and present regular updates to stakeholders, showcasing progress and achievements.

  • Help build the Marketing PMO. 
    • Partner with the Director of Program Management and other Program Managers in marketing—and across Grammarly—to identify areas for process improvement and then take action and implement those improvements.
