**This is a remote position, full-time, the corporate office hours 8am-5 pm EST**

Job Summary:

The Tax Manager works closely with Partners,Team Members, and Clients to facilitate completion of all components of tax consulting, planning, and compliance services for domestic and international corporate, partnership, and individual tax clients. This role involves working with clients across various industries to optimize their tax position, ensure compliance and reporting with tax laws, and provide strategic tax advice.

The Tax Manager establishes operational strategies by evaluating trends, determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies, designing systems, accumulating resources, resolving problems, and implementing change within the Tax Department. This position reports to the firm’s Managing Partner.

        Supervisory Responsibilities:

        • Mentor, supervise, and train tax team members. Must be comfortable managing remote teams including teams overseas.
        • Coordinates training programs for new team and identifies training needs for current team.
        • Oversee fieldwork and be available to address questions
        • Review planning letters or workpapers and ensure planning is complete before starting a new engagement
        • Review workpapers, returns and supporting documents prepared by others
        • Manage tax return due dates
        • Assist with other client services as outlined in the firm’s engagement letter and proposal submitted to the client
        • Address client and team questions and concerns in a timely matter
        • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
        • Leverage technology to create more efficient processes and enhance team productivity

        Job Responsibilities:

        • Utilizes professional experience on various tax consulting, planning, and compliance services for domestic and international corporate, partnership, and individual tax clients
          • Manages and enforces client billing policy
          • Manages department Budgets/Realization/Deadlines
          • Utilize Practice CS daily to monitor project status is current
          • Conduct weekly team meetings
          • Attend weekly management and tax meetings
          • Schedule client meetings, agenda and manage report due dates
          • Assist with other client services as outlined in the firm’s engagement letter and proposal submitted to the client

              The International Tax Manager role provides critical management, support and tax expertise in key regions across the Group. Joining a Global Tax team of 6 at a pivotal moment in our transformational journey.               Responsbilities:

              • Manage and oversee our International tax activities and co-sourced corporate income tax compliance, ensuring timely filing of tax returns by local entities.
              • Lead reporting of income taxes in our consolidated group financing statements, including managing the quarterly and year end provision process, with input from accounting teams and external advisors, and advising on tax accounting under IAS12.
              • Develop and maintain efficient processes and controls, including implementing software solutions to faciliate reporting of income taxes.
              • Set and manage transfer pricing policies, operations and documentation. Supporting the creation of and transition to an offshore Centre of Excellence (CoE), providing critical oversight.  
              • Partner with the business and support stakeholders through business changes, identifying tax implications and solutions across all areas of international tax, including both direct and indirect tax.
              • Support the International Tax Director in tax planning and structuring.
              • Manage relationships with external tax advisors, coordinating scope’s of work, fees and project coordination.
              • Managing and forecasting our effective tax rate and cash taxes across the Group.
              • Support the International Tax Director in assessing the tax risks arising from M&A target organisations, including due diligence, structuring and integration, working with advisors to support the delivery of plans and rationalisations.
              • Manage, support and advise local teams in dealings with the local tax authorities. In particular, local tax audits, including review of requests, responses and engagement of local advisors.  
              • Support the Global Tax Accountant and CoE team in fulfilling their roles.
              • Support the International Legal Entity Reduction (LER) programme.

              Qualifications

              Responsibilities:

              • Prepare quarterly corporate income tax provisions for India and APAC (Asia Pacific) subsidiary companies and perform profitability analytics.
              • Assist in the preparation/review and filing of corporate income tax returns for the Indian and APAC subsidiaries, ensuring timely payment of tax liabilities, and booking accounting journals for same. Assist in audit enquiries on such filings.

              Qualifications

              • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Chartered Accountant tax qualification. 
              • 5+ years of relevant tax experience. Industry experience (US multinational Technology companies) an advantage.
              • Adaptable to changing requirements and with a focus on continuous process improvement for what is a dynamic environment.
              • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
              • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and advanced excel skills. Experience of working with large data set, utilizing vlookup, index/match and Pivot Table to analyse data, identify exceptions etc. is an advantage.
              • Proficiency with accounting software (experience of NetSuite would be an advantage but is not essential).

              The Role

              Your Impact as the Tax Manager

              • Ensure Accurate Tax Calculations: You will “own” the tax calculation, filing and remittance functions at Kasa, with primary accountability for our occupancy tax collections, corporate income tax filing and coordination with local tax municipalities regularly. You will have a direct impact on ensuring we remain best-in-class for this critical function.
              • Tax Reconciliation Scalability & Accuracy:Given Kasa’s highly centralized accounting function, it’s critical to continually improve our tax reconciliation and recognition processes through automation. 
              • Systems Improvement:Work with the tech team and other finance leaders to improve current systems or processes to create a best-in-class tax accounting function. 
              • Tax Filing Accuracy:This role requires frequent interaction with external tax authorities that will require multiple follow-ups, varying timelines and periodic filings that must meet strict deadlines.
              • Tax and Audit Improvements:Ensure accurate transient occupancy tax settings and reporting (working closely with other members of the finance, regulatory and distributions team), while also ensuring that our corporate tax practices are consistent with audit requirements from Kasa’s corporate auditor. 

              Required Attributes

              • Requirement: Minimum three years of tax filing and reporting experience across occupancy tax, sales tax and corporate / real estate taxes for the hospitality and/or real estate industry

                  Goals for the Tax Manager/Tax Senior Manager Position:

                  • To further develop income tax preparation and tax review skills.
                  • To build a relationship with the client that is based on our trust and expertise.

                  Throughout the year:

                  • Answering questions from the client in relation to their tax plans.

                  • Conduct tax interviews when onboarding new clients.

                  During Tax Season:

                  What You’ll Do

                  As a member of our team, you will provide tax services to our clients and manage our senior associate and associate level tax team members. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
