    Qualifications

    About the Role

    As the Director of Engineering: Adoption, you will lead the engineering efforts behind Cloudflare's dashboard and cloudflare.com, and will play a central role in helping Cloudflare grow 5x over the next 5 years. Alongside your Product Management counterparts, your mission is to enhance customer and prospect engagement with our products and the company as a whole. You'll tackle challenges such as:

    • Enhancing the Cloudflare Dashboard: Can we provide product teams with a powerful platform to deliver exceptional user experiences? How do we maintain a tech stack and design language that empowers rather than restricts innovation? How do we manage contention such that it is possible for a growing organization to contribute to this mission together?
    • Driving Adoption and Upselling: How can we educate customers and prospects ranging from hobbyist developers to Fortune 500 enterprises about our offerings, encourage them to upgrade, and promote onboarding of their colleagues and friends? How do we measure this progress and make decisions when tradeoffs need to be made? How do we enable stakeholders from outside of the product and engineering organizations to contribute to this mission across all of Cloudflare’s web properties?
    • Managing Adjacent Costs: Can we effectively manage cost drivers like customer support and outbound sales while ensuring we're making a positive impact?
    • Serving Diverse Customer Needs: For customers who primarily interact through APIs or Terraform, how can we meet their needs without compromising innovation velocity?

    In this role, you'll lead a team of engineering managers and engineers, collaborating closely with product management, design, and go-to-market teams.     What you will be doing

    Knowledge and skills you need to have

    • Minimum of 4 years working as a PM with development projects:
      • PM in an agile environment: Knowledge of both agile and traditional project management principles and practices, and the ability to blend them together to achieve initiative success.
      • Communication: Fluent in Spanish, advanced level of spoken and written English
      • Cross-Functional Coordination: Proven experience working closely with multiple teams (Development, Product, QA, DevOps, Infra, etc.) to align efforts, resolve dependencies and deliver shared goals.
      • Stakeholder Management: Strong experience in managing relationships with leaders, keeping them informed, and securing their support.

Reporting to our Chief Marketing Officer, this role will craft all creative expressions of Oura around the world in a rapidly scaling brand that is deeply loved by its users.

    More specifically, they will lead the concept and delivery of solutions across a wide range of channels including .com, product (UX), brand, packaging, advertising, digital media, retail experiences, B2B, social, lifecycle and more. The ideal candidate has extensive experience leading creative work for iconic, loved global brands that have experienced rapid scale. This role can be fully remote anywhere within the United States or a hybrid of remote/in-person if based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

    We have offices in San Francisco and San Diego for those who prefer hybrid or office settings. Oura employees in other major cities (like LA, Boston and New York) occasionally gather informally at local co-working locations.

    What you will do:

    • Creative Leadership:
      • Develop and articulate a compelling creative vision that aligns with the mission, brand, and business goals and resonates with our target audience.

      • Oversee the recruitment and talent development processes to build a high-performing creative team. 
    • Delivery across All Brand Touchpoints 
      • Lead deployment of Oura creative across everything from film and .com to retail and commercial (B2B). 
      • Work closely with product development, engineering and marketing to ensure that the creative vision is integrated into every aspect of our product and customer experience 
    • Campaign Development:
      • Generate innovative ideas for advertising campaigns, leveraging deep expertise that generate earned media and incorporate experiential elements, including out-of-home and digital activations.
      • Drive the conceptualization and execution of innovative concepts that engage and inspire our customers.
      • Ensure consistency and quality across all creative outputs, from advertising to product design.
    • Cross-functional Collaboration:
      • Work closely with operations, marketing, product, finance and technology teams to ensure a cohesive brand experience and effective GTM. 
      • Partner with external agencies and vendors to amplify creative efforts and expand capabilities.

    You will lead clients through the Discovery process, including but not limited to stakeholder interviews, user feedback collection, and data analysis. Your responsibilities will encompass crafting the Discovery strategy and translating it into deliverables like user flows, customer journey maps, competitor reviews, Information Architecture (IA), sitemaps, template identification, and initial prototypes.  

    Your projects will challenge you to craft user-centered experiences and utilize a data-driven problem-solving approach. You can clearly and confidently articulate the "why" behind your decisions while balancing client desires and user needs. This position reports to Kanopi’s Director of Strategy and Creative.
