About this team and role:

Anonym’s Infrastructure Team is a dedicated group of seasoned engineers committed to privacy, security, and automation. We leverage state of the art privacy-enhancing technologies such as Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs), differential privacy, and advanced encryption techniques to develop and maintain our data processing pipelines, cloud-native applications, and engineering tools.   • Design, implement, and maintain our core services and infrastructure built around distributed computing in Trusted Execution Environments.

The Opportunity:

Our community team is a dynamic and collaborative group dedicated to open-source excellence and innovation, working closely with a global network of volunteers and developers. In this role, you will manage the team and engage directly with our community, facilitating onboarding, communicating priorities, and providing clear direction. What you’ll do: 

  • Develop and implement strategies for community growth, engagement, and retention, while ensuring alignment with the organization's vision and goals.
  • Lead and mentor the Community team, fostering their growth through direct management, coaching and mentorship.
  • With your team, manage programs to successfully onboard and move volunteers up the contribution curve and ensure they have opportunities to make meaningful contributions.
  • Actively participate in community discussions and outreach activities across various channels, provide support and encouragement to members, and moderate interactions to maintain a positive and respectful environment.
  • Collaborate with our internal teams (engineering, QA, design, product, support) to source problems and needs appropriate for working with the crowd. 
  • Collaborate with marketing to support campaigns and activities to increase community activity and engagement, creating content as needed.
  • Create a recognition program that increases and celebrates volunteer engagement and satisfaction.
  • Manage the tools that measure community engagement, monitor and take action as needed.
  • Serve as a bridge between internal teams and external contributors, listening to feedback and questions with empathy, and responding in kind and sharing feedback and insights so collaboration flows seamlessly.
  • Plan and budget for annual outreach programs, such as conferences, online events and other outreach activities.  
  • Publicize and apply CPG fairly and consistently. Make recommendations for improvement when appropriate.

What you’ll bring: 

  • Seasoned professional experienced working with and supporting multiple stakeholders and delivering results. 
  • Minimum 3 years of experience building and/or managing technical communities. Experience or familiarity with Thunderbird or another Mozilla project is a strong plus.
  • Prior developer experience is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years people management experience, holding 1-1s, giving feedback and helping coach team members to grow and thrive.
  • Understanding of and ability to use version control systems: experience with Git and/or Mercurial.
  • Experience moderating forums, mailing lists and chat channels.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Dedication to open source and open standards and passion for engaging with a diverse and global community. 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with clear and crisp writing, strong cultural awareness and ability to communicate with a variety of audiences.
  • Knowledge of inclusive practices for community building, including code of conduct enforcement.
  • Ability to de-escalate and balance tensions as they arise.

Responsibilities

Sales

  • Drive sales and achieve sales targets for Sephora Canada retail store locations.
  • Recruit, hire and develop a team of regional market specialists (freelance) and assume responsibility for sales efforts, merchandising, events, training and customer service. 
  • In addition to managing a team, this role will be responsible for direct oversight of a small number of top volume doors in the local market. 
  • Serve as the principal, ongoing Glossier representative for in-store retail teams in Canada, serving as the conduit between Sephora CAD retail and Glossier HQ, and providing excellent customer service to meet and/or exceed sales goals for all assigned doors and accounts.  
  • Responsible for all in-store sales efforts including merchandising, events, training, and customer service.  
  • Provide proactive, forward-thinking ideas to support sales efforts and brand recognition expansion.
  • Analyze business performance and respond to opportunities through education and operational adjustments.

  • The estimated annual pay range for this role is $115,000 - $128,000 CAD

About this team and role:

As a Senior Staff Full-Stack Engineer on the Solo team, you will work within a very small engineering team for Solo AI Website Creator. The stack includes a React front-end with Netlify, Firebase and GCP on the backend, BigQuery for data as well as a range of 3rd party services. 

You should be comfortable operating in a scrappy environment, researching as required, writing technical specs, reviewing PRs, investigating customer support issues and mostly writing code. Position Summary:  

The Partnerships Team is looking for a dedicated Grants Manager to join us as we implement our strategic plan aimed at revenue growth from diverse funding sources, including grants from private foundations, U.S. and foreign government agencies, and corporations. Reporting to the Partnerships Operations Manager, the Grants Manager will oversee all incoming grants management. Collaborating with finance, and program teams, the Grants Manager will handle every aspect of the grants process, from pre-award proposal development to post-award and award administration and closeout. The Grants Manager will serve as a key advisor on grants management issues, including legal and compliance matters, expenditure documentation processes, and grants budget development.  The role involves close collaboration with multiple teams across the Foundation and strong partnership with Finance, Outgoing Grants Management and Legal teams.

 

 

As a  Grants Manager (Incoming)  at Mozilla Foundation, you will work on…

 

Pre-Award Proposals:

  • Develop and review complex proposal budgets that align with funder and Mozilla’s guidelines and priorities in partnership with program, fundraising, and finance teams.
  • Review proposals to ensure that the proposed project complies with Mozilla policies and funder guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the fundraising and program teams to respond to funding opportunities, including compiling required financial-related attachments and assembling appropriate organizational supporting materials.
  • Review all incoming grant agreements for their financial requirements and provide advice on their application, feasibility and practical implementation in collaboration with the Finance team.

 

Post-Award & Closeout Administration:

Budget management tasks:

    • Coordinate all financial reporting aspects of grants, providing guidance on expense allocation to specific funders.
    • Lead and support decision-making on grant expenses, interpreting whether an expense is appropriate and allowable within the grant framework, budget, goals and general conditions.
    • Oversee the tracking and monitoring of a grant budget versus actual expenditures to ensure expense charges are allowable, allocable and reasonable.

Other responsibilities:

  • Regularly meet with program staff (including Directors and VPs) in order to exchange updates and track budget and project progress.
  • Oversee the grant reporting process which includes managing the Incoming Grants reporting calendar, the review of report narratives, completion of financial reports, and submission of all required report materials.
  • Support the annual audit, donor-led audits for grants/contracts, and US Federal audits.
  • Identify areas of significant risks and advise program staff and other internal stakeholders on compliance issues.
  • Work with program, fundraising, finance and legal teams to provide technical support and resolve grants management issues.

 

Grant Administration: 

  • Support the Partnerships Operations Manager with tracking proposals, award receipts, and award reporting. 
  • Develop and implement improved processes, policies, procedures, and guidelines to facilitate better management of and accountability for grant income.
  • Oversee in collaboration with the Finance team the US Federal Grant Compliance in accordance with CFR regulations, create and lead all US Federal Grants training, and maintain final copy of all US Federal Policies and Procedures.
  • Lead communication on all grant audits including US Federal Single Audits in collaboration with Finance.
  • Update and manage organization of all shared electronic and hard-copy grants files on a regular basis and ensure grant records are updated in CRM.

 

 

Your Professional Profile:

  • Minimum 5 years of grants management administration experience.
  • Experience working on a wide range of incoming grants including those from government agencies (U.S. Federal and/or European Commission funding ) and private foundations.  
  • Highly proficient with developing budgets and proposals for medium and large-sized grants (six figures or higher).
  • Strong comfort with fund accounting concepts and GAAP including expense accruals and revenue recognition requirements.
  • Excellent understanding of grants-related legal and compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask.
  • Comfortable working with globally dispersed cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to efficiently and concisely deal with a wide range of partners both internally and externally.

  • Technical requirements:
    • Must have 2+ years experience in building and maintaining big data pipelines using Scala with Spark, Airflow, Hive, Presto, Redis
    • Must have 2+ years experience with NoSQL databases, preferably Cassandra / Scylla and Clickhouse; and SQL databases, preferably Postgres
    • Must have 2+ years experience in developing batch/real-time data streams 
    • Worked with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
    • Experience with cloud environments, preferably AWS
    • Worked with variety of data (structured/unstructured), data formats (flat files, XML, JSON, relational, parquet)
  • Worked in Agile methodology

The Opportunity:

Thunderbird is looking for a multi-skilled self-starter to work on site reliability engineering. As a Senior SRE, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, scaleability, and performance of our systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions that enhance our infrastructure and optimize our processes.You will be a foundational member behind Thunderbird's exciting new web services.You bring production-hardened IaC knowledge and experience to plan and implement the processes to deliver our new product offerings.The ideal candidate will excel in collaboration and possess strong communication skills, ensuring clear and open dialogue across all levels of the organization. Additionally, you will have a proven track record of successfully completing projects from start to finish.

You will be working in close cooperation with our current SDEs and SREs, other staff, and community members.TheSr Site Reliability Engineeris anindividual contributor and will report directly to the Manager, Web Services. 

We’re committed to creating an amazing experience for our users, and you’ll play a key part in this effort. You will be working with our existing staff and community members from all over the globe to support the mission and objectives of MZLA Technologies Corp and the Thunderbird Project.

This is aremote,full time position. We expect excellent written communication skills so as to foster strong work coordination over email, video conferencing, Matrix, andand GitHub issues.

What you’ll do: 

  • Set up and deploy the infrastructure and monitoring for emerging, long-running projects.
  • Design and develop the CI/CD systems developers use and the infrastructure for all current and future websites and services.
  • Diagnose and debug production incidents and then improve systems to prevent the problem from recurring.
  • Collaborate with SDEs and fellow SREs to ship, maintain and monitor new builds of our websites and services.
  • Occasionally assist with Thunderbird desktop CI/CD and releases.
  • Work with a geographically-distributed development team.

What you’ll bring: 

  • Seasoned professional with 10+ years of work experience
  • Minimum 5 years professional experience in a tech infrastructure role, ideally in cloud-scale environments.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in a senior DevOps or SRE role and experience acting as a technical lead, team lead or line manager.
  • Ability to self-direct work, handle less structured environments, and communicate effectively with staff and community members in many different roles.
  • Professional experience programming in Python, shell scripting, etc.
  • Experience setting up reliable infrastructure-as-code deployments in one of the major cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP, using tools like Terraform, Helm, Cloudformation, or Ansible.
  • Experience with industry standard web development CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, TeamCity, GitHub Actions, etc.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication, with the ability to clearly and concisely interact with an international audience.
  • Proven track record of scoping and finishing projects.

Bonus points for:

  • Experience with database administration and performance optimization.
  • Experience with data science & analytics software such as Redshift, Presto, EMR, Kinesis, etc.
  • Experience with web development.
  • Knowledge of email protocols and/or experience running email servers (SMTP, IMAP).
  • Previous experience with an Open Source project, or participation in an Open Source community.
  • Dedication to open source and open standards.

What you’ll get:

We benchmark our base salaries to local markets and target the 60th percentile of the peer market. The salary ranges for this role are:

  • Canada:$96,000 - $115,000 CAD
